Go maskless? Some Americans skeptical of new guidelines, others say it's high time — Reuters

There's No Vaccine Against the Irrational Fear of Monsters — National Review

So now the big issue is that vaccinated people, whom SCIENCE has shown to have somewhere between 95-99% protection from the virus, can’t tell who may be unvaccinated among them. I guess those who say they believe in science only take that belief so far…..

That NR column is pithy and hits the nail right on the head. Butch (Rachel Maddow) should read it very carefully

Rand Paul was dead on right over 2 months ago when he said this:

Sen. Rand Paul advised people to “live free” and “trash your mask” after receiving the coronavirus vaccine in response to more cautious guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Rather than listening to government scolds, look to the science of immunology: and once you’re 2 weeks out from the vaccine, or have recovered from the actual infection, trash your mask and live free again,” Paul said on Twitter.

I thought this commentary on Fauci was very accurate. I am irritated that he's so revered by many:

The idea that those who’ve been vaccinated or have natural immunity should still wear masks for the next year or two on a seasonal basis is one of the most insanely idiotic and anti-science statements made since some worry-warts on Christopher Columbus’s crew expressed concerns that they might sail off the edge of the Earth.

I’d like to hear Fauci explain what he has been doing for the last 50 years to avoid contracting or spreading the deadly smallpox virus or polio. Answer: He’s done nothing because vaccines work.

They have. You just chose to ignore it. Don't be a dick to private business. Do what they ask or go else where. They don't want some 18 year old girl getting punched by a anti mask 46 year old

That statement seems oddly specific. Do you know a 46 year old guy that punched an 18 year old girl over a mask?

I travel for work a lot so I end up going to walmarts in many different areas and I've only been confronted about a mask at Walmart once. The area I live in is essentially mask free at this point.
From the onset of the pandemic Walmart, and most businesses, put masks guidelines in place but instructed employees not to confront the public. For fear of some nut job starting a confrontation.

Walmart won't enforce its rules on wearing masks because it fears staff could be attacked by shoppers angry at being challenged

So it's more of a recommendation than a requirement.
It's called not being a dip ****. For example, I shop 60% of the time at Publix and 40% at Kroger. They are both equal distance from my house. Publix has ended their mask policy. Kroger has not. I will be 100% at Publix until Kroger changes their policy. It's not difficult.

So if publix put up a sign that says masks recommended, would you wear one? Because if a businesses posts a sign saying that masks are required but they clearly don't enforce it, then I see it as a recommendation.

Regardless, it seems strange to be so worried about other people complying with mask requirements.

You can now visit Dollywood and leave your masks at home. They changed last night like everyone else. Employees were happily telling folks today they could take off their masks. Unfortunately, employees can't take them off, yet. (Edit: If you're vaccinated.)
