Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I thought you all needed a chuckle today so here's a line that came from a liberal in a discussion I had with him regarding Tennessee pulling the $300 unemployment "bonus" incentive:

"In the middle of a pandemic (which we are), paying people not to work is what we want to do."

Seriously, there are folks out there who really believe this stuff
It's funny until you realize they are serious and that many people believe it's true. Then, you are legitimately concerned about the future of our nation.

Went to a local minor league baseball game last night with my 4 boys. Had to have negative test to get in. They offered 15min rapid on site. We registered and tested. 15min later results hadn’t come to our email. Person in charge said “You’re good, go on in.” Still haven’t gotten results.

Update if anyone cares….

My rapid test to get into the Wednesday night game came back today. It was negative. Which is nice since I’m vaccinated.

I feel like Peter from Office Space when I’m walking around a store and people with masks on are staring at me. I’m just whistling away picking up my sundries and dry goods while they wonder about the 1 in 10,000 chance I’m infected and their 1 in 10,000 chance to get sick while vaccinated.

These people won't be satisfied until the risk is 0%. Truly stupid.

I'm not even sure it's about risk anymore. Now that we appear to be on the back end of covid, these "public health experts" are doing everything they can to stay relevant and influential. Because of ridiculous columns like this, there will undoubtedly be plenty of vaccinated people who continue to virtue signal about wearing a mask.

And that can be applied to most every progressive grievence of racism or bigotry or inequality, to the point of any manner. It really is a vision of an impossible utopia. and lowest common denominator rule.

For S&G, I did a little statistical analysis tonight for my two "home" counties:

Knox County (mask mandate, schools with masks): CV19 deaths = 0.13% of population

Loudon Co (neither mandate): CV19 deaths = 0.12% of population

"Cases" rounded to 10% and 11%, respectively.

It's quite amazing how similar almost every area I've seen analyzed hashes out, regardless of measures enacted.

Gee it’s almost like the virus ignored their silly ass masks and hand sanitizer and six foot separated circles on floors and did what it wanted until we got immunity thru vaccines and antibodies. Crazy I know. Somebody should tell the damn virus to get in line.
