This study is confusing:

The Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday released a study showing that 99.75% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 between Jan. 1 and April 13 were not fully vaccinated, according to data provided to Axios.

The study also looked at 47,000 Cleveland Clinic employees who had received one shot, both shots or no shots at all.

So was it patients or employees? Was the 99.7% really the same for both?

It’s nice to see real world data confirming the effectiveness of the vaccines to prevent hospitalizations and deaths. It’s also nice to see the continued evidence that the vaccines actually prevent infection. Meaning, once vaccinated, you’re highly unlikely to get the virus, and even less likely to spread it.

So, why with such great effectiveness are there any restrictions at all once vaccinated?

Not really that confusing. The study was on hospitalized covid patients. The 99.7% is referring to the results of that study.

They also mention that during the study they collected data on the vaccination rate of the hospital employees at the time likely because hospital employees often come in contact with hospitalized patients.

and of employees who contracted Covid, 99.7% were not vaccinated. It's two separate samples yielding similar results
