I agree that Trump as an outsider had an angle to it. It is certainly a significant factor in his being elected. But I think he overplayed his hand once he got in there. His ego wouldn't allow him to admit at any point that he had made a mistake on anything or learned a better way to handle something. He could have done that and probably poked a little self deprecating fun at himself and gotten some mileage. Just not in his wheelhouse and instead at the first sign of chaos he doubled down and made it worse in every instance.

His descent into irrationality at the covid press conferences is a good example. From a half hearted slow the spread to denying it and talking about injecting household cleaners.

It certainly wasn't "lacking" in Richard M. Nixon. LOL.

Are you saying that all Republican Presidents should be like "Tricky Dick"? LOL. Donald Trump was like Nixon, but not for the service of good government. Donald Trump didn't view the United States Department of Justice as being an independent body. Trump saw the DOJ as a vehicle for his own personal use, and that it was legitimate to use the DOJ to exact revenge against his critics and political opponents. Trump also viewed the primary role of the United States Attorney General as being the personal defense attorney for the President, including in potential civil defense cases brought against him. Trump was wrong on both counts. It amazes me how so many of Trump's abuses of power are viewed as being positive attributes by his supporters.

Is there credible reporting that Biden instigated this raid or somebody did so on his behalf and that it was not a legitimate part of the investigation that started before the inauguration? I haven't paid too much attention other than seeing Rudy, apparently, Can Fail.

What are you advocating for if a politician/or associate has violated the law? A free pass? The Girl Scouts call them and ask them to tell them the truth?

LOL. That investigation has nothing to do with Joe Biden. Unlike Trump, he views the DOJ as an independent body. The investigation into Giuliani began while Trump was still the President of the United States.

Exactly... and Donald Trump never even tried to hide that he was trying to influence his Attorney General (either Sessions or Barr) into launching an investigation into a critic or into an opponent of his. Over his last two years in office, Trump often tweeted that the AG should be "looking into" the Bidens, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

You can't make this stuff up. He had to have had to multiple takes to get through the sound bite. No way he said it without cracking up on the first shot.
