Hits doesnt sit. He sits 90-93 which is nothing when you cant hit your spots.

Smyly has a career 9.0 K/9, idk why you think he is some sort of soft tossing lefty. He averages 93.8 and 92.7 on his fastball since 2020 coming in today he sits more 92-95 than 90-93.

Maybe it’s my frustration that we’ve had literally 10 different pitching prospects make a top 100 prospect list since 2016 and we still have to sign a guy like Smyly for 8 figures. I don’t know. I wasn’t really a fan even if I thought he pitched well, I had no hope he would stay healthy. I just think AA could have used the $11M on other assets and have a better team. Jesus we are playing Alex Jackson and Guillermo Heredia and relying on Ehire Adrianza as our super utility.

I hear ya. To me, one of the real problems is we had (at least) five key contributors have career years in a small sample season and we decided to run it back like that’s who those guys really are.

That’s completely fair, but those guys are going to start hitting better. Ozzie and Ozuna aren’t going to be under 100 wRC+ guys. We are still hitting the ball hard as a team.

We can’t just can’t put together good games. We hit well...bullpen blows it...we get a good start...team can’t hit...bullpen gives good performance...defense makes bad plays.

We were 18-20 after 38 games in 2019 and ended up winning the division by like 8 games and won 97 games overall
