School Shooting in Knoxville

Do you honestly think this kid got the gun from a gun shop like a law abiding citizen?

There’s been a rash of shootings around AE and other parts of Knoxville, so much that one might call it a trend. I suspect that these shootings are likely drug/gang related and you think these guns were acquired legally? How would gun control have prevented these?

  • Data indicates that approximately 20–25% of all handguns recovered at crime scenes were originally purchased as part of a multiple sale.4
  • Handguns sold in multiple sales were up to 64% more likely to be used in crime than handguns sold individually.5
  • A study of crime gun recoveries in Baltimore found that guns purchased in multiple sales were significantly more likely than guns purchased in single sales to be recovered from a possessor who was not the original buyer.6
Laws limiting multiple sales can help to reduce gun trafficking. After Virginia introduced its one-gun-a-month law, there was a significant reduction in the number of crime guns recovered outside the state and traced back to Virginia dealers.7

Well it works for drugs. Make them illegal and they no longer exist.
Whoever said making something illegal makes it cease to exist. Certainly not me.
Murder is illegal but there will always be murders.
I still support murder being illegal.
Robbery is illegal but there will always be robberies.
I still support robbery being illegal.
Child porn is illegal but there will always be child porn.
I still support child porn being illegal.

What a ridiculous argument.

So there’s a guesstimate on every percentage until you get to the reduction of gun crimes after it was implemented in VA, and the Baltimore bs. Also how do 20-25% get traced to multiple gun sales but over 60% of multiple gun sales are more likely to be used in a crime? Did the original gun owner have it stolen? Did they sell to someone illegally? Did they sell to someone legally who in turn sold it illegally? Can you give me a breakdown of gun sales by single sales vs multiple sales?

His analogy was great. Nothing you've said has changed that.
No it wasnt. Legal guns arent the issue, the water in the pipes. The issue is people using guns illegally, so water not from a pipe.

You are arguing to shut down the whole neighborhoods potable water because one house has issues with localized flooding.

You think it's perfect because it fits your argument, but not the facts. Which is par for the course with you.

It's amazing how many legal guns become illegal guns.

Buying guns for resale to those who can’t legally purchase a gun is illegal so they are already breaking the law. You want us to believe that a prohibition on buying more than 1 gun a month would stop them? That they wouldn’t simply get 4-5 of their buddies to make a single purchase to keep the racket going?

Yes, I do want you to believe that even though it obviously wouldn't stop them it would just as obviously slow them down and decrease the number....... and at absolutely no harm to legal gun owners.

Tends to happen when someone does something illegal with them. Like any object.
Yep......That's why it makes perfect sense to reduce the number of "legally" purchased guns that are easily identifiable as guns that will become "illegal".

Except they arent. Unless you want to start profiling people. But I tend to think that's wrong, but you seem quiet accepting of the racism in your gun grabbing agenda.

So you use "data" from an anti-gun group who even then says its "20-25%" and you think this is majority?

You really should go do a police ride along and talk to actual experts

Trace it's origin. I bet it originated in a multi gun purchase.
If this kid is like the ones around here he's either involved in the theft rings stealing from parked cars at night or he knows someone doing it and bought one off them. I will bet very good money he did not come into this gun by legal means.

He didn't...this firearm wasn't sold more than once and wasn't sold anywhere near Knoxville
