Agreed. I’m also in the camp of believing Tennessee recruits itself to a certain degree. Not a perennial top 5 level but definitely a top 10-13 level. I think he can at least hit that average and his scheme may maximize that kind of talent against opponents with truly elite talent.

10-13 puts you in the bottom half of the SEC.

I can find something nice to say about every UT coach since Majors. Like them or not, they each brought something to the table.

But Pruitt-- the only thing I can muster up is that he has a really nice wife and kids. And if we want to pursue McDonald's sponsorship opportunities, we're golden.

What are your early thoughts on Heupel?

Yep. Tennessee is going to have to win and fight to become a perennial top 5-7 team nationally in recruiting. It won’t help being number 10 when 5-6 SEC teams are ahead.

We just gotta hope we get to an 8-4 season consistently with a 9-3 season here and there to get to that top 5-7 teams then go from there. Going to be a while. Hoping Coach can get us there or at the very least to that consistent 8-4 record. Maybe by that time UT will be a better place to be and we can get almost whoever we want for a coach, or we may keep Heupel. Time will tell.

This year, I think we are looking at 4-7 wins. If we get to 7, then I’d say we finish 15-17 range in recruiting, and I’d have confidence in the coaching stay going in to next season to actually coach these guys, because a 7 win season would be impressive and give most Vol fans hope for the future, I think even 6 wins would give us a spark.

IMO, we win 6 this year and finish around 17th in recruiting and excited for the following season. Anything better is icing on the cake.

Lastly, my bold prediction is that HB leaves after Spring. Maurer will prob take QB1 with Hooker as QB2. @LittleVol congrats, looks like I could be wrong. Hopefully Maurer kills it if he takes it.

If we win 6 or more, we've lucked into a great staff. I can't see us stopping people enough to win more than 5, and if I'm honest, that's a stretch with me assuming Lea just can't get Vandy going at all, and that South Carolina hired a staff with no plan and assuming that the offense works against any team not at the top half of the league on defense.

I heard a different, more problematic story of how everything came to the scene with Neids involving a still very prominent player and a former player and as always, a girl.
I can’t be the only one blown away by a Bruce Wayne and Batman being in the same place at the same time...all this time, I thought they were one and the same...

We should easily win all 4 non conference games. Vandy, SC, Missouri and Kentucky are wins as well

I think we have a coach capable enough to beat 3 of the cupcakes easily. I think Pitt will be tougher than both USCjr and Vandy.
