Take out 2020 for Maurer and only focus on 2019 and the outlook for Maurer is totally different. He carved up Georgia and played very good vs Alabama on the road prior to getting obliterated.
The thing I loved about BM in 19 was he's a gun slinger. He wasn't afraid to just let it rip and let guys go up and make plays. He just needed to clean up some of the extremely stupid stuff like chucking into double coverage in the end zone. And stay healthy.

Also @HankHill can you give us a rundown of practice nugs? Just all in one message from what you have heard up until today? Especially with the QBs like what is keeping the other 2 behind Maurer to this point?

the more i talk to people the more i believe whole heartedly the staff became aware they were getting nailed by ncaa early on and just cashed it in.
That plus the salary/bonus catastrophe and Brumbaugh getting fired.

All those guys were putting out feelers at other places by mid-October.

I’m probably the only one, but these Tweets irritate the crap out of me. As a fan I am so over words and platitudes. It is past time to start showing it with results.

I’m a firm believer in keeping your head down and grinding to get better. Telling everyone how good you think you are is worthless.

Stay off Twitter and Volnation then?

Seriously though, Social media and these buzz words/phrases are part of the culture and you will find that at every school across the country.

Of course they didn't. They were lead by a Bama loser that clearly didn't g.a.s. about the University or winning football.

Who was worse, JP or Butch? I at least had the impression Butch cared, it was just obvious he couldn't coach up players or coach well enough to win games.

Pruitt is the worst head coach we’ve had here and it’s not close. Dooley was better and butch was 10x better

Maurer is just the most physically capable of all of them. Physically he doesn’t really have a weakness. Quicker release, he’s mobile, he can get to platform relatively easy, he’s not a power thrower like a Justin Herbert or something but he has a live arm quick arm that can really zip through tight windows and on balls to the boundary, he has quick eyes too which sometimes gets him in trouble Bc
He has a Bad tendency to perceive pressure that’s not really there and rush through his reads. But since this offense is one-two reads tops... it fits him perfect.

Those are just phrases that coaches use to motivate players. Doesn't have anything to do with telling how good you are.

I agree, but I also don't do social media, at all. So that frees me up to not read and/or react to the mindless bullsh!t there....

Not sure why that post would be irritating. I don’t get the dislike from some on Maurer. The kid made things fun to watch for a few games then things changed with the concussions and injuries. Talent is there if it can all click mentally. He is very good in the quick short game. His struggles can come down field so it’s something that needs to be worked on.

Story I've seen is he showed up injured and out of shape. When he got healthy he wasn't in game shape and that put him in Barnes doghouse. Rob Lewis said many times this season he can play but couldn't get out of the dog house.
Not a fan of doghouses. Seems like an ego driven relic of the past.
