President Joe Biden will display transgender flags at the White House on Wednesday to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility, according to an official.

“Imagine being a trans kid and feeling seen by the highest office in the land. And not just seen, but loved and cared for,” she wrote on social media.

Biden also released a statement Wednesday to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility.

“Transgender Day of Visibility recognizes the generations of struggle, activism, and courage that have brought our country closer to full equality for transgender and gender non-binary people in the United States and around the world,” Biden’s statement read.

What do we pay taxes for to begin with? I always find it amusing that they want to raise taxes to pay for something that the taxes we pay should’ve been paying for all along. The first one is the only thing taxes should be used for anyway.

"Advocates estimate that transgender troops number close to 15,000. About 2,200 of them have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and are seeking care, Stephanie Miller, a defense official overseeing accessions in the military, said during a Wednesday news conference."

Purge the conservatives and advocate free medical conversion for mentally ill for our vaunted fighting force. Dont forget your high heels boys/girls. They work great in sand.

That's very true, but I think the markets (stocks, commodities, currency, and all the other gambling opportunities) are bigger than nations. The banking crisis went all around the world. Hard to say what a US default might set off.

We talked briefly about this in the other thread, but Amtrak is a "government run" service that could actually be profitable if they did it right. Running high speed, no stop service straight to major airports from a lot of the "feeder" cities (OKC to DFW or Colorado Springs to DIA for example) could actually be a counter to airline prices. Or put in a partnership with airlines to do such a thing.

But... probably not going to do it right.

That's a 67% increase in ridership. That's a bold prediction. Like crazy bold.

We typically tell cities that 50% increases are pie in the sky everything goes perfect and there is a lot of existing demand. 25% increases are generally "good" investment targets to go after if your arent fundamentally changing something.

I would be interested to see the market study they did on this.
