I don't feel like the staff is really doing anything except not pulling their scholarships. I guess that's leaving the door open, but with the situation we had and where we ended up I think it's the smart move.

The team from all accounts seem to want Henry & Crouch both back, so I don't think it's causing some sort of friction there. If neither return it'll be 100% their choice though, nothing forced by the staff or UT and I'm okay with that.

Coaches are still "recruiting" them. I think there are two ways to look at-- each with a different message. Coaches have made their choice on how to handle this situation. Look for a few more guys to hit the portal after spring... and hopefully grad transfers coming in.
Any names?

Yeah, but with how the class limits work I'm not sure how easy it'll be to fill their scholarships so to me at least it makes sense. I rarely side with a coach that just pushes out players for entering the portal, especially after an entire staff is let go like we did.

Suh was the most dominant college d-lineman I have seen. In that Big 12 CG against Texas he was a one-man wrecking crew who almost single-handedly shut down a very prolific Texas offense. Definitely deserved the Heisman over Mark Ingram.

Hey guys, new job has been killing me this week and so I apologize for the "thanks Jimmy" question, but can we confirm that Toot is back and going to play this fall, or is it still up in the air but he's on campus and we are waiting? I haven't been able to get on for the past 3-4 days...

Anytime you take over a program..... you have to re recruit guys especially when it has been a mess like Tennessee has been.... Try to get them to change their minds and coach the ones on campus..... it’s really not that big of a deal.

Any competitor wants them back bc it makes them better..... the only ones that wouldn’t is someone who thought they may start if they are gone.

What if I told you WKRP wasn't filmed in Cincinatti?

No Toot or Crouch.

Other than Shamburger, it looks like what was expected. Good to see the players arrested are still on the roster.

By my estimation we're sitting at 74ish scholarship players for spring practice. With the new signees coming in over the summer/fall, that would put us at 81. Will be interesting to see how many transfers we can get. With more transfers after spring, could see 10 spots being available if we're trying to get to 85. Wonder if we'll self impose any scholarship reductions (hopefully not, that would be really dumb).

I was pleasantly surprised at the number if DB' s we have on the roster. I had it in my mind that we were short in numbers there but I hadn't looked at the roster in a while. I know its talent not numbers but again I was thinking we didn't have as many as we do. As far as the door being open for Crouch and T, I can understand wanting to keep as many veterans as possible and leaving the door open but I also am willing to bet that these coaches are going to beg them to stay. Door may be open but they will practice as though they aren't coming back. My first question for discussion is will Eason stay at LB or be dropped to DE or both according to the D we are playing? Second question for discussion is, will both Beckwith and Whitehead stay at RB? I know they both are talented just wondering who if anyone might be moved to a point of need on D maybe? GBO!! So happy Spring football if here!!
