President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

damn straight. We came out in droves to vote for Biden/against trump. It was a rout. Most votes ever

Biden is nothing but today's hot smelly cat-piss garbage laying out in the sunshine. Doesn't know what he's doing without someone telling him where to go or why he's in the WH....You're an idiot if you voted for this moron....

What's the difference (if there is any) between increased prices to consumers because of tariffs and increased prices to consumers because of doubling the minimum wage?

Punitive tariffs make sense if the prices for goods are unreasonably low because of manipulated currency or manipulated labor in countries that aren't free. They make more sense if we are funding a Chinese infrastructure and military that will be used against us. Tariffs also make sense when the Chinese steal our technology and industrial how to. Unfortunately the consumer always pays the tariff - but then the consumer also pays domestic corporate taxes and other government supported practices that caused the loss of US jobs in the first place. If the tariffs reduce imported Chinese junk then they are effective. However, increasing the minimum wage is suicide because it undercuts any gains in forcing effective labor rates to be more competitive. Trump used tariffs punitively; Biden seems to apply them as a fed income stream to offset the revenue "lost" by not "increasing" taxes on people making less than $200K. Dem corporate tax and minimum wage increases effectively undo any punitive measures Trump put in place to offset Chinese corruption of open markets. Dem policies are stupid - pretty much across the board.

try again - this includes the drop in March from the pandemic - it's the total change from the day he took office until he left.

wanna bet it doesn't go up at least 55% in Biden's 4 terms?

Your comment makes me think that you also see the stock market as an entity that deals in perceptions and not realities ... the opportunity to blow bubbles just because of a rumor or so when the reality says nothing got better.

I saw a video of him in a "cabinet" meeting and when they asked the press to leave and they asked a few questions he looked like lost kitten, his eyes dancing around like he didn't know where he was. It's really sad what the democrats were allowed to get away with when they put that tool in the white house.

I do have to admit, I thought the worse this country could ever see was barrack Hussein, I was wrong. The combo of Xi/Rice/Harris is way worse

Obummer is still the godfather fairy godmother advising the circus, but Rice is probably the real master, and that's not a good thing even if she is probably the most "competent" person in DC. Rice's competency ranks right up there with Stalin - ruthless as Hitler but smarter, too.

It mostly deals in reality, bubbles are corrected pretty quickly and in the end fundamentals of the economy and company performance are the primary movers; particularly for an index like the Dow.

My main point is that if Dow performance is an important metric to measure POTUS crushitude then let's see how the terms compare.

I'd love it if Biden's term was a Dow successful as Trump's was - it would secure my early retirement but I'm highly skeptical we'll see Dow 47K under Biden

But the Dow Jones has been on a steady increase for 100 years. Does that mean every president is awesome?

I'm jaded about the markets in general. For example, in scanning news articles these two headlines popped up:

Oil Prices Fall Further After API Reports Crude Inventory Build

Stuck Suez Canal Boat Raised Oil Prices, Because That's Oil Folks

But the Dow Jones has been on a steady increase for 100 years. Does that mean every president is awesome?

in case you are being serious - the point was relative performance with the original poster taking a small period of time to show one POTUS was better than another. So if that is a valid metric I'm suggesting they be compared term for term.

and no, the DOW has not gone up 55% every 4 year term of a POTUS.

IOW, take it up with the original poster who seems to believe it shows Joe is crushing it

How many presidents served over that hundred years? Bit of a non sequitur there...

I dont think so, he was the one asking if Dow performance is a a good metric for a president, not me. I dont think it is and one of the reasons is because it increases for everyone

I wasn't saying it is a good metric - another poster suggested it. I was saying if one is to use it they should go apples to apples.
