President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

You really are for the "they can get away with anything and you better not tell little Johnny he did something wrong - and god forbid if you try to punish him" rhetoric.
She was already punished. She wasn't good enough so wasnt on the team. Coach and school has every right for that.

I am all for punishment fitting the crimes. This was way overboard.

This wasnt her refusing to participate in a team activity. Or threatening the coaches/school/team. She didnt throw a game (this is cheerleading so no game to lose anyway). She didnt convince a team mate to leave the team. She didnt do anything to harm the team. Hence I am against her being punished.

And i am further against the school restricting her rights for a social media post. Are the schools going to start canceling gamers because they curse an online opponent? Or if someone getz in a fight with an abusive parent?

Whether or not you agree with her, she has the right to express herself. The school doesnt get to determine her after hour access to rights.

If 99.9% of coaches are smart enough, that still leaves leaves a few thousand who are not.

And there is the problem.

The girl should have never been suspended for this. The coach is a moron along with the administration and school board.

I want coaches smart enough to be able to discipline their team without getting sued. It's not hard.

I guess when I was a HS senior and we had to run the bleachers for six weeks because of that party the cops busted, the coach was violating my right to freedom of assembly. I wonder if I can still sue.

Trump eliminated ISIS. Biden eliminated Mr. Potato Head and Dr. Seuss. Great job showing us whose boss.
There is one misconception about the Dr. Seuss controversy that needs to clarified. The decision to no longer publish some select Dr. Seuss books from early in his career was made by the executors of Theodore Geisel's estate. It wasn't done as a result of public pressure, and it wasn't a 3rd party decision. Biden and those evil Democrats didn't eliminate anything. They did this to themselves.

Meh, jmo, but being part of a high school sport or team is a privilege, not a right, subject to an understanding that you are a representative of said school. Should a coach decide to punish you, you can either refuse said punishment and quit the team or just go along with the punishment. The question is when does a punishment become unreasonable? I guess it depends on the situation.

I don't like governing by way of executive orders, but the majority of them were done as a means of overturning orders which Trump had signed into action.

As for not facing the media? Biden has still only been in office for 7 weeks, and he has returned the White House daily briefing with his press secretary Jen Psaki. Trump had largely done away with the daily briefing. And let's face it... for the most part, Trump only conducted interviews when it was a friendly face at Fox News. I'm guessing that didn't bother you.

But, but, but Trump!

I'd like to see the stats on which ones were "overturning" Trump's EO actions. And which ones were really necessary.

She wasn't punished by not making the team. That's not punishment, that's life. Happens to millions of kids every year.
Coaches have the right to punish players for actions and words detrimental to the team.
Hog even throws bad attitude into the mix.
The girl was stupid and paid the price. Maybe the price was to heavy, but that's a coaches decision.
You guys wanting to castrate coaches will only worsen the problem you claim to hate....makes no sense.
Unless it's just because it's Biden instead of Trump.

You guys seem to be saying the answer is that no coach should ever be allowed to punish a member of the team for something that they say or do away from school. I think that is absurd.
Deal with the coach that makes a poor decision, but don't try to throw another stupid restriction on all coaches.

You know, just because I was bored...

Here are the executive actions Biden has signed so far

So far, Biden has signed more than 50 executive actions, 22 of which are direct reversals of Trump’s policies. Most of these actions have addressed the novel coronavirus, immigration and equity.
Biden defends the number of executive actions he has issued as necessary to undo what he considers “bad policy” inherited from Trump, especially on immigration.

So the "majority" weren't reversing Trump actions.

LOL. 44%. My point would remain the same. I don't like governing by way of executive orders... but if you weren't complaining about Trump's executive orders, you shouldn't be complaining now.

You might want to take a look at what was signed and tell me how "bad" they were and in need of overturning.

Castrate coaches so they cant punish kids for things that dont impact the team or school what so ever.

Guarentee she was the only kid to express an negative opinion to something school related. As far as I am reading she is the only who is being punished.

Establish the crime, the harm, that was done. Once you do that we can talk about if/how the school can restrict her rights.

LOL. Roughly half. My point would remain the same. I don't like governing by way of executive orders... but if you weren't complaining about Trump's executive orders, you shouldn't be complaining now.
Nice edit from 44% to "rOuGhLy HaLf"

Your point wouldn't remain the same at all.

Yes, it does. The complaint that Biden is signing too many executive orders is a partisan one. You weren't complaining when Trump did it. And let me know when Biden starts pardoning some of his associates from felony convictions.

And again, I don't like governing by way of executive order... but 22 of them (per Grand Vol) were to overturn executive action Trump had taken.
