The initial Sherrer - Rumph - Rocker - Fair - Kelly defensive staff was pretty impressive and I believe it was better than our current staff. This offensive staff is going to be significantly better than anything Pruitt ever had.

Knoxville Catholic was eliminated last night in the State Semifinals. I was told Tamba has told his Catholic teammates he is reclassifying and is headed to UT. Again this is 2nd hand info but I trust the source.

Jerry Meyer mentioned yesterday in an article on 247 that the rumblings are Tamba and BHH are leaning reclassification to 21 to go to TN to play with Chandler. Tamba is a Kyle Alexander raw type prospect though.

The supposed problems with Rocker and Rumph was recruiting. He wound up filling those two spots with guys who had made a splash on the recruiting front but had no clue how to coach their positions. The results on the field showed how inept they were at actual coaching.

You are correct about hindsight. I think Pruitt was frustrated with the lack of recruiting by Rocker and Rumph. Probably should have kept them as teachers and just deal with who you get because we will still get some talent.

Why is it so easy for me to want to believe in the next batch of coaches?

I thought Pruitt was a football coach, not a used car salesman, that he had a fire in his gut to be great, and we dumped a truck of money on his staff. Fail.

All that said, I feel like Heupel is similarly good at his job of being a football coach. He has put together a staff that appears not to be a train wreck of individuals pulling in different directions, and he seems to know how to trust competent coaches to do their job. If he can do more with less, it will not take long for him to do more with more.

University of Washington copied UT by building their stadium on the water. (Only two major universities with this distinction). They fell short trying to run through the W or the H.
They almost succeeded with running through the U, but were confused as to why the players ended back at the tunnel...
