No he couldn’t. Barnes has some glaring weaknesses/stubbornness.

1. Can’t recruit a big man.
2. Won’t call time outs to break an opponents run.
3. Refuses to mix up the defense.

Almost as maddening as not being able to stop a simple slant.

I would combine Scho with Grant. Those two were both were critical to success. They could put the team on their back and take over.

Its not going to happen, but Barnes might need to consider retirement this off season. He is what he is, we will be decent with him but wont win anything big.

It’s not an overreaction..... Barnes has been this coach for years.... I’m not advocating to get rid of him but this is who he is.

Barnes' teams reach their ceiling between 10-20 games into the season then decline. This team is just following this pattern.

Its not its what he is, Barnes got fired at TX for seasons like this. If he has to run a team outside his system, it doesn't work. And his system doesn't get you very far.
