Random question: back in the day, my dad and uncle wore the solid olive green fatigues. I still prefer those to cami patterns which to me ought to be specific to situations and deployments.Just had class, getting ready to go get fitted to get the new Army dress service uniform. One good thing about getting selected to be recruiter is they’re giving us the uniform this time

Step-son wore the sand colored camo, and it made me think of pixels and tetris everytime I saw it.Random question: back in the day, my dad and uncle wore the solid olive green fatigues. I still prefer those to cami patterns which to me ought to be specific to situations and deployments.
Anyway, is there a term that military members used for the solid olive green ones besides OG-something?
Also, growing up, this was my definition of a perfect woman.Random question: back in the day, my dad and uncle wore the solid olive green fatigues. I still prefer those to cami patterns which to me ought to be specific to situations and deployments.

You no what they say about assooming...I figgered this thread would be as dead as I thought @Behr was, from November 2020 thru January 2021, by now.
If we’re thinking about the same uniform, I’ve always heard them called olive drabs.Random question: back in the day, my dad and uncle wore the solid olive green fatigues. I still prefer those to cami patterns which to me ought to be specific to situations and deployments.

USAF called them pickle suits. I got to wear them the first 5 years.Random question: back in the day, my dad and uncle wore the solid olive green fatigues. I still prefer those to cami patterns which to me ought to be specific to situations and deployments.

The dress uniform the Army is replacing not so much. Black jacket, blue pants, gold accents. We look like airline pilots. The new dress uniform looks essentially exactly like the dress uniform from M*A*S*H. The navy and marines have the best dress uniforms. The Navy all white dress uniform (that Tom Cruise wears in Top Gun not the Donald Duck looking uniform) is my favorite.Sweet!
Military dress uniforms out shine any other formal men's wear (tuxes, etc). I feel like I've felt that way a long, long time, and I dont know how I came to form that impression. A movie I'm guessing. It's the "distinguished" factor.
