Teams continue to shoot lights out at three, and penetrate too easily.

We play so much better when we drive the lane, it isnt sexy but it opens up shots. Dont know why we keep dishing ball until someone gets double teamed, then turn ball over or make bad shot. There is no alpha.

I am pretty sure before the UK game, we were 3rd in the SEC in 3 point defense. That hasn’t been this team’s problem. All about offense.

I have no problem with the tweet - showing confidence and having a chip on his shoulder. But he needs to thicken his skin if he can't handle a few negative comments because he chooses to talk the talk before walking the walk. Go out there and prove the idiot fans wrong too.

What about JJJ? He was supposed to be a 1 and done.

Some believed that. I didn’t. I posted a couple of times before his freshman season started that he would be here at least 2 years and very possibly 4.
I know the family and know that he wasn’t in any hurry to turn pro. He won’t go until HE is sure he’s ready. That’s just the way he is.

For much of the year our Defense has been rated #1 in the country. Barnes style of defense plays inside out and will always defense the paint first before the 3 pt line.

defense is far far far from a negative on this team. It’s our best thing

Barnes over coaches on the offensive end. Doesn’t really let his players go out and make plays. That’s fine against the bad teams but when you play against teams like AU, Bama, LSU, Etc. they will almost always win.

This problem is compounded by the fact that we don’t have a go to scorer in the post

A couple of Barnes' prior teams struggled defending the three, but this team has been better. You aren't 3rd in the country in defensive efficiency if you give up a bunch of three's.

Duke is on the bubble. UK has no chance unless they win the SECT.

..............interesting I want every sport that involves this university to get a National title,give me all the ships.I’m not saying I’m against him because he’s definitely earned his money here.I’ll always want the best for Barnes.

it's all relative. TN basketball is not widely considered a good/great basketball program. there's not really a big history of championship caliber play. no final fours, 1 elite eight and a handful of sweet 16's..... ever. it's been 40 years since we won an SEC tournament....we've won 10 regular season titles...all time.

so yeah, to be nationally relevant, and discussed in terms of competing for championships....i'm good. who knows, maybe we screw up and win a conf tournament, or make another elite 8 or a final four before barnes retires?

either way, i just know i enjoy watching basketball now. and i can tell you thru the 80's and most of the 90's and a good chunk of the 00's.....it wasn't really worth watching.....i think i went to one men's bball game the entire time i was in school there.....

it's not like i'm against championships...i'm just not grading the job a coach does on the scale of winning titles, or not......
