I’ve seen comments on taking him out of context in the federal courthouse attacks in Portland and its dumb. He clearly stated they were both crimes but wasn’t fully sure the domestic terrorism statute applied to Portland. Which is being taken out of context as it’s ok if they attack at night.

Not what he said and not helping any anti Biden narrative. Garland is a competent appointee there is no shame in acknowledging that. Now some of the other idiots...

Garland was referring to the investigation into the identity of the person responsible for the two pipe bombs which were believed to have been planted the night before January 6th near the U.S. Capitol. Yes, he should have said "bombs" instead of "bombings". However, there was no question as to what he was talking about if you were listening to the whole hearing, rather than just trying to play a partisan "gotcha game" with a sound bite.

There was an attempted bombing with two pipe bombs planted. If you listened to the hearing, rather than just a sound bite, that is made clear. There is an ongoing investigation into the identity of the person responsible.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the only reason why Biden picked him. ^^^^ This is an example of applying a simple-minded Trump rationale, to someone who isn't Trump.

Considering the other nominations he's picked so far (Sally Yates being one of many) that's probably not far from the truth. His picks have been less than stellar and Garland isn't a bad choice.

Chances are, Biden's handlers thought it would be a poke in the eye because of the way he was treated in 2016. Forgetting he was actually under consideration for the same post under Trump that eventually went to Sessions.

Trump probably should have picked Garland.

Yeah I’ve got no desire to listen to that clown or any other nominated by this group. Attempted isn’t the same as a bombing and if it comes out it was BLM or antifa the investigation will go away quietly

There is a lot wrong with this... There is no way that Garland was ever under consideration for AG under Trump. I doubt very seriously that Biden's handlers care about poking anyone in the eye. That is more in line with the acuity of the previous administration.

And Antony Blinken has the credentials that one would expect to see from a Secretary of State... the same is true for Lloyd Austin as Secretary of Defense. The only choice I don't like so far is Granholm as Secretary of Energy.

If you would have a problem with Garland as AG... and call him a clown. Then you are strictly tribal and would say the same things about anyone a Democrat nominated.

This is political tribalism. It's when individuals are not evaluated on their own credentials, but instead by their affiliation to a group. It is lazy to judge people this way.
