He may not be young enough to mean it in that respect. Maybe borderline. His kids are old enough to be on up in college. He's likely on the down slope of his 40's. But, I may be wrong.

The reason is foundational.

At its least abstract, the American left is about forming societal uniformity and centralized power.

At its least abstract, the American right is about individualism and independence and decentralized power.

Despite what people on the left will always say, the extreme right isn't really fascists, it's total anarchists- the extreme left, statists (communists, fascists, etc., just painted different colors).

As long as neither extreme gains true power, we will be OK. We have a blended society of secular and religious. There will always be a need for the middles of both sides to maintain the true power. A permanent shift in balance either direction removes the freedom of the others and that is anti-constitutional.

I was saying the democratic party functioned better than the republican party.
Had the republican party functioned well, Trump would never have won the primary.
Had the democratic party not functioned as well as it did, Bernie would have been the candidate.

Yes, I agree with that. In addition to the reasons you gave, another reason that the Dems have more of a "get on the same page" mentality about them is because their caucus is way more fragmented than the Republicans in terms of interests.

The Democratic Party has certain constituencies that have interests in direct conflict with each other (immigration activists vs. unions, for example). In contrast, the Republican Party has different constituencies with different interests that are important to them, but they aren't directly opposed to each other. The Chamber of Commerce conservatives don't have interests in direct opposition to the social conservatives, for example.

The "Squad" is no different than the Republican Taylor, they're all crackpots with zero power. I wasn't even considering them.

Right now we have a far left Vice President, Pelosi is far left and Schumer is far left. Since Ol Joe is nothing more than a puppet I'd say the far left holds more positions of power than they ever have. Trump was no where near far right and I can't think of any far right politicians that occupy any office.

Kamala, Pelosi, and Schumer are as establishment as they get. They are good at duping people, mostly progressive activists within the Democratic Party (but also Republicans, who see them as boogeymen), that they are solid progressives.

There is a difference between their branding and what they actually do once in power.

The Jihad Squad will garner more power as President Silver Alert moves farther to the left. Then when the Commie takes over they become very powerful. I have said it before, but we are going to long for Pelosi when AOC and that bunch are wielding the gavel.

I don't think they're extreme left as many label them. They're extreme establishment, with the intent of consolidating and dominating the power structure, damn the law and fundamental rights.

Maybe that does actually make them extreme left.

Surely you don't believe Biden was the answer to Bernie, or the better option to Trump to wait out the next 4 years and see what y'all can come up with. And I'm not talking about Trump the man. I get why you despise him personally. I'm talking about Trump the prez that fixed alot of things and made alot of things better in general for Americans. Biden and his puppet masters have no idea the damage they have done to the average Joe with his 50 plus signatures, all in the name of undoing what Trump has done. There are two different Trumps. Twitter Trump and Prez Trump. Prez Trump did a lot of good for the American public in general. And got alot of people back to work. We won't debate Twitter Trump. I'll concede that one now.

I think they have pulled the wool over your eyes. Of course they are establishment but if not for the 50/50 split in the senate they would be passing extreme gun control legislation, moving to medicare for all and other extreme left wish list bills. We'd already have the $15 mw passed if the senate was 55/45.

I do believe the country is in far better hands under Biden than under Trump. Biden wasn't my choice, neither was Bernie. I was looking for someone much younger.
