Who really knows all that is going on?

It's easy to in hindsight look back and say that Pruitt simply being fired would have been the best plan. But, does that mean that Fulmer is still the A.D? If that's the case, then all the stories of Fulmer's involvement would have probably led to a number of coaches turning UT down for that reason alone. No one knows how the NCAA will rule, so it's all conjecture at this point. Maybe Danny White needs some humility and this is giving it to him. I think he certainly can be more effective than some past ADs (that's not saying much) and I think that Heupel might not be the guy to win championships, but he might, just might get the program on solid footing and I hope that he gets a DC that he believes in, who wants to be at UT, and they get things moving in a positive direction.

I'm glad Pruitt is gone.
I'm glad that Fulmer is no longer the AD.

UT will ride this wave and it will eventually crest and there will be beauty on the other side.

If Fulmer was AD, I have zero doubt Kevin Steele would be HC

I'll be curious to see if the $1.5 million number floating out there publicly will draw some new candidates out of the woodwork to show interest. Hopefully it won't be just to get a raise at their current school.

That's exactly why I don't understand all the whining about Washington. I'd much rather hire someone with actual DC experience.

The whining is bc this is the dude Heup wants. Nobody cares that you want someone with DC experience. You aren’t the HC.

We want the guy bc Heup wants the guy. Pretty simple.

I mean ya know, honestly it's not a bad idea. Go out and kick all the tires you can/want to now, Steele is already on staff and under contract. If ya can't land the up & comer you'd like now promote Steele and let him be the DC for 2 to 3 years.

I get he's not the "play aggressive" scheme guy, but he's also been a successful DC for plenty of up-tempo offenses in his career and managed just fine.
