I am adjusting my expectations..it's either accept reality and root for an underdog, or be completely miserable wanting something that just is not going to happen for a while.

My hope for now is that at least Heupel can build a consistently good to great offense over the next few years, and go from there.

Baby steps..
You're further along in the process than I am. I'm still trying to overcome this feeling of dread and misery in my stomach.

If Steele is the floor then why even go after any of these other guys? I wanted rank them over him. What am I missing?

No..no..it's still there in mine too..I dread the thought of getting destroyed by the best of the SEC...but..I do think Heupel can build a powerful offense over time that can get us over the low and mid tier SEC.

I can see that happening in the next three years.

Dread it? Where have you been the last 15 years? It's been a common occurrence

Most of our admin problems went away with Fulmer. They’re not spiraling, media is playing make believe.

The only thing that’s certain right now is that only ONE person has been offered the job. Washington, and we still don’t know what he’s gonna do. Anyone saying he’s going, staying, or someone else has been offered is 10000% bulls**t.

The absolute floor for this thing is Steele

Do you think people will ever realize what a cancer Fulmer was? Mediocre head coach and masterful politician. Multi-millionaire lining his pockets grifting from this University.

I also knew in my heart, and said so loudly and frequently, that when they went scorched earth to dislodge Fulmer and Pruitt that it was going to be ugly for a long time.

I actually feel better than I did then knowing now that at least they were able to get a top 10 offensive mind out of the mess we are in...and I do feel like they made a great hire in DW.

He is an extremely competent AD, and it may take a while to see the fruits of that hire, but I believe we will see UT athletics as a whole, including football, do some good things under him.

Still haven't seen anything definitive on Washington either way from anybody. Baker or whoever could just be another feeler they've thrown out while they wait for an answer. Feels like it could still go either way. Hes probably making the decision with his family tonight and we'll find out in the morning.

I'm not holding my breath. But hopefully he sees the light.

My dad and a few of his old friends had a picture with him from the 1998 season that he had kept up for years. He burnt that picture 2 weeks ago
