No, there were ways to get rid of them without doing Hari-Kari on our program for the NCAA.

They were already overpaying for BOTH coordinators. We just paid Chaney 1.5 for 2 years to score freaking 20pts a game and Ansley 1.0 to give up 30 a game. Donde didn't cause that. If he's the guy give him what he wants. He needs to decide though or it's time to look elsewhere.

He can't force someone to sign, and it sounds like he is trying to not get totally worked in the deal. We all say "pay him 2 mil and get it over with"..but he is the AD..he can't really do that. We would be killing him fir doing that if it didn't work out.

I'm just saying we paid top dollar for a top AD so the expectation is that he needs to close these types of deals. I'm not saying vastly overpay the guy but get the deal done. We can't keep going to plan O after getting turn down by all top 15 top choices. ABC DW!!

Family is important but sometimes you need to make a move if you want to get promoted. This is a major reason that people change jobs in the business world. However... whether he can put a decent staff together might be the biggest hurdle in our situation. He is not going to come here if he is set up for failure.

I have been in his shoes in the coaching world. It's not as simple as people are making it out to be and certainly has nothing to do with him being scared. And, yes, if he can't get a staff that he needs up front that is a major obstacle.

Regardless, just like it gets nasty recruiting top prospects against Florida and Alabama, it’s going to be contentious trying to pull a top assistant from a top program.
