We need Wash for his recruiting. I'm not sure the Gillespie guy could recruit near as well, though he is probably a better play caller

I haven't read anything else about Gillespie since his name was initially mentioned. Has there been anything else said about him?

We’re getting turned down by coaches from 2 of the CFP teams. We’re not getting turned down by position coaches from Purdue or NC State, we’re swinging big because our AD can see where these guys will be in the future. We’re just not in a desirable position right now given all of the bs that Pruitt and Co left behind, coupled with the past decade of garbage that has gone on.

Maybe it's the NCAA sanctions coming our way that's holding us back right now with these perspective hires

However, I think assuming Jesus is who I believe him to be, I think when legalistic folks see Him face to face, he’ll say something like this:

“You really stunk at keeping the rules but did a great job of completely missing the point.”

You know since most coaches bend recruiting rules, it's gotta be a red flag to go to a place where they essentially buried 3 coaches (or more when dust settles) to get rid of a guy for underperforming.

There's another way to look at this if he's torn between OSU and UT
Maybe he knows he'll be under the big microscope at UT, having never been a DC, and he might think this job would ruin his reputation if he failed. Just a thought.
