As a 28 year old I’m not gonna lie. It sucks knowing Tennessee was a top 5 program in the 90’s and you all got to experience that. I would be fine with just winning 8 game a year at this point.
As a 46 year old, I remember the '90's, and wish we were that good again. When you're living it, it seems like it's gonna last forever. Then it doesn't.

I think some people just assume Tennessee is going to get back there some day but man the farther it goes the more it seems unlikely. And that okay in a sense. But 22 years since you won something actually meaningful is such a long time ago I don’t think the fanbase actually realizes it.

As a 56 year old I remember the 80s and how we kept getting better to get to the 90s. Being underdogs with all those great WRs. Always had a chance to win. We kept getting better then we got Peyton and others followed

Heath was QB when I was at UT. I was there when Johnny was coach and got replaced by Fulmer. It was a different time. People always talk about Peyton, but before busting in the NFL, Heath Shuler was a highly thought of QB. But the '80's were good too, and full of plenty of memorable UT moments.

That's my fear, that we'll never reach those levels again. Then I remember, UGA hasn't won a NC since 1980.

Wanted to name my son Heath, but my husband liked another name better. Always thought Andy was the reason we got Heath, and Heath was the reason we got Peyton. So who's the reason we got JG?

Damn. That's sad to hear.

Heath remains the only jersey I've ever bought. It's sad but, he's almost forgotten in the pantheon of UT QB's. Which is even worse because, had he come back, I think there's a good chance we win a NC his senior year.

What could have been had he stayed another year, and not been drafted by Washington? Always wondered if he would have had more luck in the NFL had he not been drafted by them.

Heath was the first QB taken in the 1994 draft. Imagine if he had been the first QB taken in the 1995 draft? You know who was the first QB taken in 1995? Steve McNair by the then Houston Oilers. Imagine if that had been Heath?

I don’t even think about winning the playoff, or even the SECCG, how about just some 10-win regular seasons? Maybe go to the SECCG. Every generation of Vols fans but the younger one now could count on seeing some teams that won 80% or more of their games.
