Previous administration bout to get dunked on.

Finished up the final edition of my coach power ratings, after making a couple additions.
  1. Added weights to better account for more recent data
  2. Added a recruiting grade to account for three primary components
    • Overall weighted recruiting average
    • Recruiting average above school expectations (So Chadwell gets credit for recruiting well at a school like CCU)
    • Talent development over time (calculated by taking the slope of adjusted talent over the coach's tenure at a school)
Since that's done, I figured I'd share the rankings for pretty much anyone I saw referenced as a candidate (and Pruitt/Butch too for comparison's sake...)

Among active head coaches FBS/SEC, Heupel ranks:
Overall - 16/6

SEC rankings. Still working on a system to include coordinators.

That just bc a coach isn’t in the SEC doesn’t mean he isn’t a good to great coach.

Sometimes they just need an opportunity. We’ve seen and tried all of the SEC re-treads. Didn’t work. Let’s breathe some new life into this place and give some coaches an opportunity to shine at this level.
I understand that, I just find it hard to believe that every single person on his current staff is that guy. I'm all for breathing new life into the program. We all knew Butchs "Best Staff In America" was nonsense. I was just hoping their was a few guys that Heupel had contact with that were above what UCF could offer, but would be willing to work with him at Tennessee.

I don't hate Steele as the DC, he's already here and he's already making the 900k. Let -him- walk away, don't trust him but I also think with White at AD Steele won't try to work backchannels to get the HC job here. What Steele gives us is the chance to have a very good defensive staff that can/has recruited the SEC at a high level. The connections he has are no joke.

I'd rather have Arnett cause I like young fire...but he has a brand new contract that makes his buyout more expensive to other SEC schools to hire him.
We have FU money---buyouts are our thing. The bigger the better :):):)
