Maybe in 2009 it would have, but the best SEC schools (Bama, LSU, Florida) run what we would have called "Big 12 Offenses" in the past, and they have great success doing it. A 3-3-5 is the best bet to counter that, IMO. USCe ran a 4-2-5 recently under Muschamp that I would also be alright with, those teams were stingier on D than you would expect with their talent (just couldn't produce on offense)I really think a 3-3-5 defense is going to get absolutely ran through in the SEC. And these first transitional years...ouch. Flashbacks of 2012 UGA running through my head.
Might be able to stop Florida some, though. Not sure if Mullen remembers what a RB is. Think they only used one twice against OU.

True but I didn't want to include that because it would have undercut my argument haha. Amazing how talented defensive minds like Pruitt and Shoop can come here and then instantly suck. Depressing my be a better word for itWe pretty much ran a 4-2-5 under Pruitt. Very rarely it seemed we were in a traditional 3-4.
Nickel is the new normal.
2 mil is excessive but theyre gonna have to pay up for him if they want him, he's a rising star, were a dumpster fire, and he's rejected other big programs in better places than we are
Two million, maybe not. But I would be fine if they ponied up 1.5. For me I'd rather the AD overpay for quality hires than try and shortchange them and end up with bargain bin coachesNo way you pay a rising star DC that kind of money. No way. If he does, then it shows he doesn’t know how to choose a staff.
Next year will be his fourth year as a DC, and I am unconcerned with what he "deserves." I am concerned with getting an uber talented DC here to pair with our offensive minded HC, and if they have to pay a little bit above sticker price to make that happen, I would by all means support thatYou think a 2nd year DC deserves top tier DC money??
