What? College football is as much about the Jimmie's and Joe's not thr X's and O's. Clemson is still going to be ok next year. The more important stuff to look at would be the numbers. Do they land Simpson? How many guys do we steal? Offensively where are they ranked compared to when Elliott was there. Really weak argument.

Getting the players is only half the job.

This is the same argument that was made against Jeremy Pruitt when he was hired. Only this time it’s on the offensive side of the ball.

Elliot has never had to rebuild a program from the ground up, especially with the NCAA hanging over his head. He’s not going to have an elite coach beside him running the team.

You can’t base his success off Clemson.

I just got clarification from someone. UT is not avoiding Sexton clients. DW has just put word out that he will not take calls from anyone doing Sexton’s bidding (boosters in particular). This puts some stress on pursuing Sexton clients (they signed with him for a reason), but has not eliminated them completely. So you can’t rule his clients completely out of the picture.

I see you have thought about this a lot. I would love for you to show your work on this take
There is a long history of star coordinators that don’t pan out as HC, especially in their first gig. It’s absolutely possible- but it’s a long shot- especially here.

Just curious as to why we would want to keep any of the coaches that haven't improved us for the last 15 years?
I dont think Chaney is as bad as it seems. I think a lot of the offensive issues were Pruitt and JG. I think Osovet is a potential superstar and can add value by instant some of his RPO stuff. It doesn't matter what you can and can't do if the HC is a hot head who doesn't let you do your job.
