that's Paul Wall.

And if we pay his staff well.. I'm sure that is a plus.

There is a lot to be said for this angle. He may not care about money, but some of his assistants would likely double their salaries in a tax free state. That can be life changing for some of these folks. We throw around numbers on here without much thought, but for an assistant going from 100k to 200k a year, plus bonuses, is huge. I asked my accountant once at what point he sees most of his clients go from paycheck to paycheck to actually living comfortably. He said that 500k is around the point where people seem to reach that point.

Obviously you can live comfortably for a lot less than 500k, but I think his point was that after taxes and basic living expenses, most people living under 500k a year still watch their finances pretty closely whereas over that threshold, most people don’t worry as much. At least in his experience.

So while going from 3m a year to 5m a year may not be a big selling point for the HC, going from 300k to 500k may be a huge deal for a low-level assistant.

Y’all are welcome. He’s our guy.

Fleck does seem like a system guy.
Regimented, detail oriented, intelligent
Could translate well, seems similar to Saban in that respect. Obviously he’s not Saban, but perhaps the military like approach could work here? Don’t love his personality or the catch phrases but I don’t think it’d be a bad hire.
Could also backfire.

If Campbell cares about the ISU program, then he'll let us pay them that buyout money to help their budget issues. Take the offer Matt...do it for ISU.
Hahaha that's actually an interesting angle. Maybe ISU needs to sell him to us to save the athletic department.

I've gone through your posts over the last few days, and you certainly act like you have inside information. You were the one to throw these two (relatively random) names out: Jonathan Smith (Oregon State) and Jeff Hafley (Boston College) as being vetted.

Can you give us an idea of how you know what you know? Stoerner Fumbles explained his. I want to give you credit if you're right, but this cryptic crap isn't gonna get you that.
Go through the posts from the Gruden threads....

Please watch the video, I've cued it up to where he starts talking about all the strategic investment initiatives (re: Spending) they are planning. He says one of the reasons Campbell has committed to staying is that they've committed to building a $90 million sports performance center.

I saw the video and they can commit all they want, but this is the reality:

Records: Iowa State coach Matt Campbell covering some of his staff's temporary salary cuts

This was just a few days ago.
