I just can't believe we could get that lucky...I refuse to believe this is a real possibility. I will believe it when I see it..the thing about Campbell, that i even overlooked, is that he's been pretty consistent over a several year stretch. he's competitive at a high level, and has won enough big games to keep them relevant in the conf title talk, and they've avoided, for the most part, the embarrassing type losses.
the only thing he doesn't have is big time resources...
i don't know how good he'd be here, i really don't. but as "safe bets" go.............jeez, that'd be the safest bet we've placed....in a very long time.
I mentioned Jimbo on Wednesday, when we were discussing who would be worth $7-8 million per year and close to realistic for us to get. I just don't see Campbell being worth that much money right now. He's at $3.5 million (wiki), we shouldn't have to double that to get him to Knoxville. I think he would be an 8-9 win coach here, which is better than what we've had. $4- 4.5 million is top dollar for Campbell, IMO.
*I'd rather give Freeze $4 million or Chadwell $2 million and get the 8-9 wins.
Yes, @Bassmaster_Vol is a troll and changes his AVI like I change my underwearDid you learn anything catching up?
yep. and for us, it'd be totally worth it. you get the big splash, w/out a ton of drama. and a guy that is actually got a real life proven track record at a P5 program. Not getting Campbell for that amount. Think about his side of it. Heās a hero at ISU and can stay for a while. Unless he just falls on his face, they want him. Business wise, he should only take a new challenge if the new school promises him roughly 5 years at 5.5-7.0 million per year. He can take that chance. Itās simple math.
I just want to get back to the years where we finish the year ranked most of the time. 8-4 sounds great
You change yer underwear 17 times a day? You may need to see a doctor.Yes, @Bassmaster_Vol is a troll and changes his AVI like I change my underwear
we had work to do no matter defensively. for an offensive guy, Botch left offensive cupboard bare. For a defensive guy, Pruitt recruited badly on defen...i just dont think he was as great...sigh. we have some talent but got beat by Kentucky. We have work to do.yeah, in spots. i wouldn't say the cupboard is full by any stretch.
if i was going to hang hope on something, it's that the QB room looks better today than it did 7 weeks ago. so that's something work around, early on.
defensively...yeah...got some work to do.
