Wish we could get Malzahn or another offensive guy. With Steele and Garner on D.God I can’t wait much longer, need Chadwell to be finalized so I can exhale. Fulmer said a lot of dumb crap Monday but his 10 year comment will be prophetic if we make Jamey Chadwell our head coach. It may not lead to immediate success but his offensive ability partnered with a veteran SEC defensive staff would have us proud of our team and results for years to come!
Please make it happen Donde and Boosters!!
Football is a copycat sport. It always has been always will be. Just wait until next year when we see crazy amounts of motion before the snap the way Bama did this year. It already a matchup game more than it ever has been, but there are going so many stack and trips formations trying to gain a blocking advantage it’s going to be absurd.Glad somebody else is actually seeing what Chadwell does with the O. Like others have posted, so glad he did not end up as an opponent in the SEC.
I will never get why people think we have to do what better programs are already doing to beat them. Dumbest idea there is. Imitation is for losers, all you are doing is flattering the victors. Innovate. When you are not the leader in what you do you will be a loser in the SEC.
Since Freeze is out, in my book it is Kiffin first and Chadwell second. They innovate and inspire their players to do their best.
LMAO! In what world is Ole Miss anywhere close to UT? Look at championships, facilities, tradition, or literally anything else. They are a nothing program. Back to trolling. In what world is TN better? Is Ole Miss without an AD? Did Ole Miss just fire the HC and two coaches and the entire recruiting office? Is Ole Miss staring at likely NCAA bowl penalties, scholarship restrictions, etc? Is Ole Miss looking at multiple players in the portal?
Better job my butt.......
Lol why would we hire a guy who turned a 12-2 team into a 8-3 team and that’s his only HC experience?
I’m not saying we’re getting someone good bc this is UT and that’s not how we roll but I’d legit rather roll with Steele than Ryan Silverfield
You don't really do that much research at all, do you?Chadwell got owned by the NCAA at Charleston Southern.
I'd put down a stack of McDs Happy Meals that if he hangs another 2 years at Coastal Carolina, the NCAA will own him there.
It's odd, isn't it, how he goes to a random unheard of football school, they win big then vacate those wins....... he is now at another random unheard of football school winning big........ want to guess what comes next?????
Hard pass.
I’m not advocating for him because he needs more experience, and I think there might have been some red flags this year. But his best offensive playmakers opted out this year, so there is some context.
Well... I mean he went 1-9 as a high school HC in 04' lmao
Same...I am mad at all of them, but I am angriest at those that took advantage of a bad situation to regain power. They are slimy backstabbing traitors that deserve to have their reputations ruined just as Pruitts and Fulmer are.I get it. You and I are in a similar boat. Real world problems dominate our lives, so seeing them invade our escape from reality, Vol football, is hard as hell. Like you, I'm mad as hell, and I'm hurt. And as I previously said, I blame them all for failing to safeguard this program. I'm not convinced they get this AD or coaching hire right. I have zero faith that they will. I fully expect more disappointment. It pains me that I'll probably never see good UT football again. If I could, I'd walk away and find a healthier pursuit, but I'm a Volunteer until the day I die. It's part of me and who I am.
Foundation being laid.....hopefully.Eric Cain reporting that Kaden Salter is the leader of a group text pushing to keep new players onboard. The glue keeping everyone encouraged and optimistic.
Latest I’ve heard. Boyd/Plowman met with AD candidate. This candidate has been targeted for a few days. It seems the meeting was a final step. MOU is out. Apparently Steele is trying hard to add Garner, director of recruiting, and Simon to stabilize things. Fulmer had advocated for Steele being able to hire D staff, but Administration is reluctant to make moves without an AD or coach. Yesterday’s players from the portal were all Nieds recruits. Coaches are reluctant to say bad things about those kids or specifically say they were paid. The best I can get is that they were “mentioned in the report”. Read that as you will. I continue to hear that there is a substantial committed sum to hire an experienced coach. They will test interest among those candidates after hiring an AD. My friend thinks that names were discussed in AD meeting yesterday given some signals and activity. There are more players who are on the fence regarding the portal, but most have agreed to see who the next coach is. Players are hearing (through players on other teams) that Tennessee will not recover, and are being told they have options. Apparently this is the channel for talking to a player before they’re in the portal. My friend says he reads Steele as a decent human who cares about the players and the school, but can’t deny that the more people he hires, the more control he has. Final cryptic message: My friend said Plowman has a strong network of friends in the Big 12. He said it would be easier to get her enthusiasm behind someone who comes recommended from that group. Simple deduction says Stoops or Campbell. When I mentioned those two, my friend said coaches perceive Stoops as no longer connected to the right circles of young assistants, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try. Campbell is a dream coach, but it’s hard to imagine this being his dream job. O’Brien has connections to Boyd and the Haslam family. As of yesterday, he was not officially on the Tide website after negotiating a deal for ten days. He has been in touch with Ty Simpson and family more than once. I can’t imagine that situation dangling much longer. The list of possible coaches that fit the bill is short. Sadly, my friend said that missing on a few might lead us back to Steele. The boosters and Boyd have made it clear they’ll do anything to keep that from happening. This is seen as our last shot at getting this right. Apologies in advance— This is the vaguest update I’ve given, but things are getting quieter as they get closer to making moves. I’ll keep trying to get more.
