I often think the same thing about conservative policy. Which means I think there's some truth to this going both ways. Politicians hold some views they think are dumb but are popular so they do very little work to achieve their stated aims but just enough to appease their base.Or maybe the know their politics are insane and want the Republicans able to block it so they both a can blame the Republicans for their failures and b not actually get through crap Bill's that don't even want themselves.

it's not all politicians - it's the ones who've specifically labeled people with certain characteristics as the problem.

one of the stark differences was the lack of violence today as opposed to 2016 when anti-Trumpers lost their minds so you are correct there are stark differences.
