I'd love to have him, but the reality is that he'll likely see us the same way as South Carolina when they tried to hire him. This was something I came across when researching coaches. It's more than just money to some guys.
So if this was you or your son , you’d still agree no? I’m just saying he paid the time time. Been out of the sec for years now. Can’t banish a man forever . Even our lord will let us into heaven after asking for forgiveness. Sorry for going there and apologize if you don’t believe but I do and just making a point.Under Freeze, the Ole Miss football program committed various recruiting and academic violations that figured in the NCAA's decision to expunge 27 of Freeze's wins and ban it from post-season play for two years. He resigned from Ole Miss after officials discovered that he had used a university cellphone to call escort services multiple times over the course of five years. NO WAY
Auburn won a NC just a few years ago.Despite Napier turning down 3 SEC jobs, I do believe Tennessee is in play. We have top tier facilities, one of the most passionate fan bases in the country, and I do believe you can bring elite recruits to Tennessee with the right coach. I understand we are in some trouble and recruiting may be a problem for a year or 2.....but I think Napier could come in and bring this program together and put the right pieces in place for us to be successful. He beat Iowa state with mediocre talent at Louisiana. That’s pure coaching when you pull off an upset like that. We are former SEC champs and have a national championship under our belt....granted it’s been a long time....but those other schools he turned down can’t say that. I firmly believe he is in play for us.
Mayo has coached a total of one year, as a position coachIm on the Jerod Mayo train, young guy, up and coming in the NFL ranks, knows Tennessee football and tradition. Just interviewed for the Eagles HC position. I could definitely get behind him as a fan. Also like the idea of Charles Davis as AD but thats just me.
Both are underqualified for those jobs. Mayo needs to be a coordinator first.Im on the Jerod Mayo train, young guy, up and coming in the NFL ranks, knows Tennessee football and tradition. He may be the second coming of Vince Lombardi but he got an interview because he is black.Mayo is alread getting considered for HC positions in the NFL, He knows what its like to play for/coach in a successful organization under possibly the greatest coach in NFL history. Right now UT isnt going to go out and get a slam dunk, they are going to have to take a chance on someone less proven. Jerod Mayo is my guy and going to be a damn good HC sometime soon.
