He admitted to all of it

Hubbs just reported that a source went directly to Plowman

AV told us his group was going to execute a coup to remove fulmer since he wouldn’t get rid of Pruitt

Go read all of AVs post on December 24th and you will see
Well getting rid of Pruitt and Fulmer is a good thing and will help turn the program quicker than kicking the can down the road. In the unlikely event AV had a role in it I applaud his efforts and would give him an “Attaboy” if I ever personally met him.

A lot of people are saying that Steele is going to be promoted to full time head coach. What I don’t get about that theory is obviously Steele was hired by Fulmer, most likely. So would Boyd and Plowman tie there self to a guy that is here because of the man who got us into this mess? Please tell me they’re not that stupid!?

No and lets be clear, the next AD won't make the hire he will only manage the hire.

Random stat I thought was interesting...
If you were judging the candidates by Top 25 wins:

Herman - 15
Freeze - 13
Kiffin - 4
Marrone - 4
Chadwell - 2 (5 in fcs)

*butch jones and Dooley had zero top 25 wins before being hired

I don't claim to know all the dynamics at Texas, but my feeling was that Herman underachieved there. No reason that the horns should not be the equal to almost any team in the country. Based on this, Freeze is the most impressive IMO.

Snippet from Orange Throat this morning. Lots of other good nuggets in there about the back story starting in 2017:

Many are mistaking the investigation as an all-out mission by UT to get rid of Pruitt and save $12.7 million. Reasonable minds will decide otherwise when the sordid details are revealed in the coming days, weeks and months. Pruitt and agent firm CAA are rattling sabers about legal action and will probably file something, but the facts will make Pruitt look like he's playing with the legal equivalent of Jarrett Guarantano at QB. There might be a token settlement of some kind but don't count on it. Further, Pruitt is probably untouchable right now at another college program.

It came full circle on Fulmer, lets not forget Fulmer had his own little coup back in 17 while Currie was out west trying to hire ML

This year was a lot like Butch in 2016. Much like Tennessee against a down SEC East that year, with a senior QB, Texas had the most talent in a down Big 12, including a rebuilding year for OU, had a senior QB, and still managed to lose 3 games in conference. Combined with all the off the field stuff, the BMD's decided to move on.

Here is the flip side on Herman:

Who do you think makes the hire? The boosters, a search firm or Boyd and Plowman? Because we all know our boosters couldn’t pick a good coach if he was right in front of them. As far as Boyd and Plowman goes, I’m not even sure if they are qualified to do their jobs after what I saw at the press conference yesterday.

That person needs their butt kicked.
I think people need to realize that Pruitt made a lot of enemies on campus, it could have been anyone. Hell, he made enemies in his own football complex ( players/ coaches/ support staff ). The guy was/ is a moron and has no business being in a CEO position. Fulmer messed with the wrong group of people in 2017 when him and Anderson pulled their little coup and yesterday the chickens came home to roost on Fulmer. The amount of meddling Fulmer did in the program the last 3 years is extremely troubling and he's far from innocent in all of this.

The Haslam family is back involved now, Boyd is a Haslam guy, they'll pull the strings

Absolutely, to think otherwise is naive.

I don’t give two craps about Pruitt...... don’t try hurting Pruitt by hurting the university.... people have to be more mentally tough than that.

God help us all...
I don't think its as bad as you think, they wanted/ had Mullen in 2017 which in retrospect would have been a homerun hire but that fell through and Sexton got them hooked up with Schiano. IIRC the Haslam family likes Kiffin, a lot so we'll see. Freeze is a Sexton client and the Haslams love them some Sexton

I don't think that's what happened, I think they originally opened this up to try to leverage Pruitt but once they pealed it back they realized it was far worse than they could have ever imagined. I think UT took the right steps and I think the NCAA will tread lightly on UT. Former players are spinning doom and gloom because they're pissed off Fulmer got the ax but it was warranted.

You are so full of it.. You've gone off the rails with hard on for him.. You're OBSESSED... Honestly, this place would be much better if Freak would give you gucci treatment.
This was also reported to have come from inside the program, either a coach, a staffer or someone within compliance who went directly to Plowman and her office. To think a booster would single handedly orchestrate that move is really best described as obsessive. Sure AV expressed his opinion and what he felt was best along with his intentions to remedy based on what he was told by others. He wasn't the source, he was the second wave that attempted to fix the issues created.

Bruin wants you to go back and read, but we won't see it as he does because he focuses on a leaf stuck to a secondary branch on a tree. He can't see the forest.

Maybe but from my experience with these NCAA issues..... the NCAA treads lightly on schools that fight them.... the ncaa is toothless and has no investigative abilities.... typically, if you cooperate and investigate for them and show them all you have found...... they hit you pretty hard...... we should have fired him bc we wanted rid of him and covered up the negative things he had done while he was here.
