This is the stupidest **** ever....and every post like it today. Next year when whatever poor schmuck takes this impossible job is losing 8-9 games while getting his teeth kicked in and having a recruiting class ranked on the 20s or 30s, and then start out the next season losing four out of the first five...you guys will be screaming for blood again...and again...and again...and again...

I hope I am wrong, but I really believe that the next few years are going to be a freaking nightmare, and the Tennessee football program is pretty much over as a legitimate power.

Sorry to set you off if I came across as too flippant.

Jeremy Pruitt didn't fail because fans were too negative and said mean things on message boards. He got fired because he cheated early and often, did so in a very sloppy and reckless fashion, and our rivals got the dirt on him. On top of that he was apparently a jerk to everyone he worked with, and his results on the field were historically bad. He fired himself.

I wanted this this guy to succeed. He had me on his side when he said his favorite vacation spot was Gatlinburg, and his favorite food was cornbread. I fully understand that this turnover is not good for us, but given what we've learned he couldn't continue on. The next year or two are not going to be pretty, but a necessary first step was getting rid of the coach that put us in this position. You should direct your anger at the responsible parties, not posters on a message board with no influence over events. Even better, stop letting this program get you mad at all.

The whole Meyer vouching for Herman makes no sense. Meyer sniffing around the TX job was what led to Herman eventually being replaced. Not sure I buy Urban saying "hire my boy"....

After a nationwide search, we’ve determined that the best candidate was a guy we hired a few weeks ago to do some things that we never really specified... but just generally do some things around here, ya know.

Does not worry me one bit. Kansas barely had anything on Beaty. Based on Plowman's presser and many reports (i.e Chris Low) there is a lot of findings that ultimately fall under Pruitt's responsibility. Based on the language she read from his contract today was pretty clear, it was his responsibility.

I think they have a pretty bad relationship. OSU fans are convinced it's Herman who led to the Zach Smith stuff causing Urban to be fired.

I’m not worried about a two year bowl ban. We probably don’t make one next year anyways and year two after the roster attrition and a new coach just getting his second class in isn’t going to get to a great bowl anyways. Honestly, if it isn’t a New Years 6 or playoff bowl, who cares? A ban doesn’t prevent us from conference championships. Much rather have a shot at that then the Music City Bowl.

I don’t think a 2 year ban will happen. Tennessee demonstrated proactive institutional control with full transparency to AA.
