They got rid of the HC and AD they wanted gone, an assistant whose contract was expiring, a low-level assistant they could paper and a bunch of support staffers that were collateral damage. They were selective. There's a lot more that can come out. I'm glad Pruitt is gone, but some people better watch their back.

I'm 1,400 miles from Knoxville up in the Southern Rockies. The only read I had on the situation was from information I saw on here.
Because of how things have gone on I assumed that there would be a retention. Never got the sense that the NCAA compliance firm in Overland Park had been hired. I can only assume the report Friday found facts that clearly pointed to lack of institutional control the onus of which contractually clearly fell on Pruitt. I guess the buck has to stop somewhere. That said his fate could not have been known with certainty until Friday. Given that the administration acted quickly. At least this outside review gives the University a strong justification for the actions that have been taken.

A few questions remain. There has to be more to the Steele hire, or maybe not. Just a lucky circumstance? Was RayUGA served a cease and desist letter? Got to expect that if so much trouble was gone to bring in the compliance firm that the AD hire if done with diligence and transparency will take some time. Same with HC, especially if Pruitt is going to bring an action to claim a buy out.

Anyway my 2 cents. I was wrong about retention. Just want to see the Vols have some success.
