Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

This is the stupidest **** ever....and every post like it today. Next year when whatever poor schmuck takes this impossible job is losing 8-9 games while getting his teeth kicked in and having a recruiting class ranked on the 20s or 30s, and then start out the next season losing four out of the first five...you guys will be screaming for blood again...and again...and again...and again...

I hope I am wrong, but I really believe that the next few years are going to be a freaking nightmare, and the Tennessee football program is pretty much over as a legitimate power.

Please let me be wrong 🙏
How many times do you have to post the same story over and over again. Think most if not all understand your position. 🖖

I can’t believe I’m going to say this... and I can’t believe I’m thinking anyone is going to GAF that I am saying it, but I think if Lane wants it you offer it to him . You do all of your due diligence, get professional people from the University to hammer out a contract that would be beneficial to all parties and include a laughable buyout from other future employers. Like $30 million laughable and make it hilariously public. I don’t know what’s going to hit us, but I think with his brand of ball he could sell the school and the vision to keep our 2022 kids in state and excited to bring Tennessee back from the dead. I really think this would be an amazing story and opportunity.

I’m not going to address this anymore because it’s obvious that you can’t talk to some posters.

1. We had a complete idiot as a head coach the last 3 years. He was terrible on the field and extremely reckless off the field. Behind the scenes Support staffers were threatened and he tried to strong arm people into covering up stuff by him and his staff. That you cannot cover up.

2. There is not a “clean” program in major athletics. No matter the conference. But there are gentleman’s agreements in place that self polices. When you start doing things to violate those (which we did) that’s when you get in seriously trouble. We were doing those things early and often. So this whole “we will never win now” is ignorant. This whole investigation was more about Pruitt meddling in stuff he had no business in and things he isn’t even qualified to have an opinion on.

We have a fantastic chancellor and president now. We are now in an AD search and i trust that they will make a good hire and then we will get to head coach. I feel 1000000x more confident in our future than i did a week ago.
But we must have the drama queen overreactions. What social media culture has created. Bowl ban next year and a few scholarships and move on

no matter who he’s interested in as a coach they’re going to have to sell Plowman and that won’t be easy like Fulmer.
Unless it's all already been discussed... which after reading about Plowman and then seeing her in action today, I have a feeling she's not walking into the next week(s) blind. I think the path is clear.

We blame the Haslam's for **** around here like people used to blame droughts on witches and ****.

What do the Haslams have to do with any of this? What from today leads you to believe 70 year old Phil wants to do this again, anyway?
didn't he sign an extension this year? yes, signed a two year deal in May.

AD named tomorrow. Coach named Friday. Gotta be the timeline or thats ballgame for the instate class, especially if Kiffin isn't chosen.
Volnation never ceases to amaze me!
If we don’t hire the guy that left after 1 year the first time we hired him, we will never sign another recruit and should probably just cancel football! 🙄

Regardless if Lane Kiffin is a realistic candidate, if he really did call boosters and tell them he was interested, I think that sort of debunks the assumption that the TN job is cancer because of the investigation and no one will take it.

People will try to use it for a raise. Lane might be one of those people. But when you are prepared to offer up a top 10 salary with little to no first year expectations, you can get people to entertain an offer.

If O’Brien and Marrone are off the table what does that leave?
