This makes no sense. The kid went out and played because his number was called. He took every opportunity he was given. Let's not sit here and say none of us wouldn't. The coaches/AD did this to themselves.

USC got 4 years probation, 2 year bowl ban, and 30 scholarship reduction over 3 years for something that involved football and basketball. Unless there’s more that I haven’t heard about, I’d expect the NCAA to hand us 2 year bowl ban and like 15 over 3 year reduction couple years probation probably too.

Now THERE is an idea! Mayo has been interviewing for HC jobs in the NFL. Definitely should at least get an interview if he is interested.

Not happening. A new AD isn’t going to do that. You need a HC experienced with recruiting. Can’t risk another slip up even by accident

It’s honestly the most likely scenario and I hate it. We will waste the 22 class. Nobody will commit if they don’t know who the coach will be. Kevin Steele is weaseling his way into the job y’all watch.

Laughable to think UT would pay his $12 million buyout for a guy who helped destroy your program and would destroy Ole Miss now as well. That man won't get a sniff IMO.

The admin is aware that the critical 2022 in-state class depends on UT having a coach in place...and not an interim. You basically throw away your recruiting class if you do that, and the 2022 class is the absolute worst one to have that happen.

One interesting thing about if Kiffin were the hire. They wouldn’t have to fire Chaney. Kiffin brought Chaney to UT last time. Kiffin, Chaney, Steele, Garner, Graham...that would be a nice staff. ‘22 instate class would all sign with UT. We’d be back in 2 years.
