I'll take your word for it, despite the republican senators and congressman agreeing that his actions rose to the level of impeachment - Trumps inciting the crowd was just another excuse for a Dem's bi-partisan pile on.

He’s right. I’ve gone through it word for word as well. If this were a court of law there is zero chance Trump would be convicted of a crime.

Certainly we know that there is a segment of Trumpsters who are considering further violence and attacks on the country. Hopefully law enforcement will be better prepared this time to put them down aggressively. But its still the case that it could cost lives. Again.

I also think he’d have a great chance of winning in 4 years. There are a ton of people waiting to say “I told you so” about Biden and he seems to have a special relationship with his party.

The precedent is that impeachment is being used as a partisan political tool. Of course that was already set with the 1st impeachment so what the hell, right?

That's not the way healing works.

If someone is calling for "healing" then the obvious first step is for that person(s) to make the first move. As for the Trump admin, I don't remember him or his most ardent supporters calling for healing. They were all for the same partisanship they saw from the Obama admin.

One thing is for certain. The R's are absolutely acknowledging and condemning the wrong, but they are thrashing the D's on their hypocrisy and silence throughout the summer. And one after another are singling out (not by name) and reciting word for word the D's sitting in congress that have called for violence against others and how they started on Trump the day he nominated. Was good to see. Maxine had the floor immediately after one of the rebukes was specifically the call to violence remarks she made. LOL.
