Democrats plan to introduce articles of impeachment as early as Monday

A lot of Republicans in the House will vote for this. McConnell reportedly may decide to let it come to the floor. A lot of moving parts to this and right now I'd say it's uonto about 25-75 he is thrown out of office prior to 1/20.
8 days left, why are the Dims so determined to get this done? They scared of something else? Lots of money being wasted on something that doesn’t matter.

These dips**ts don’t realize there won’t be enough time to even float these articles and ram them through. Then Trump becomes a private citizen again and the point becomes moot. Dems are just as much blowhards and outlandish as Trump. He’s gone in eight days. Move on.

As I posted before, I dont think its a good idea, practically speaking.

I mean, he definitely deserves to be kicked out of office. No question about that. But I think the timing of it is just not worth the antagonism it adds to the situation.

It is, Go with it.

It’s worth it. It’s telling that the Republicans like McCarthy are hoping for some half measure, like censure. They don’t want to have to vote on this.

A useful exercise is to imagine how this will be seen 20 or more years from now. Will it be viewed as a partisan reaction in the heat of the moment? Or as taking a stand against completely unacceptable behavior?

Don't get me wrong. I do see value in forcing GOP members of the House and Senate to formally take a position. They ought to have to go on record and live with the consequences. But weighed against the possible eruption of further rioting and sedition by Trumpsters I question whether its worth it, overall.

Certainly we know that there is a segment of Trumpsters who are considering further violence and attacks on the country. Hopefully law enforcement will be better prepared this time to put them down aggressively. But its still the case that it could cost lives. Again.

I heard Adam Schiff on the radio yesterday. When asked why impeach now, his first response was that Trump is a danger.

And while that's possibly true, if I were to vote for impeachment, it would be mostly about the message it sends to future presidents, and not about the next week.

Depends on whether the historian is a Trumpster or sane.

They can still finish it after he’s out.

There is a deep anger out there that I am not sure you even understand. The Congressional issue was decades in the happening. Not about Trump.

Ummmmm.... noooooo. There is frustration by everyone about Congress. But that crowd was of a singular mind-- defend their cult leader Donald Trump. He was absolutely the cause and focus of it.

Democrats clamoring for Donald Trump’s immediate removal from office may be afraid of what documents he might declassify in his final week. I say, what is taking him so long?

I have written on the topic of declassifying and releasing full, unredacted government documents related to Trump-era controversies many times. The point is the same in every instance: the deep state can never be trusted to engage in meaningful oversight over its corrupt and potentially illegal actions. And because self-policing is unlikely, if not impossible, it is up to the American people to decide. But the public cannot judge the case lacking full information, so President Trump must supply the full, unadulterated record as evidence.

This is becoming more critical as days pass and the Trump presidency runs out. It’s now or never. Those about to take total control of the government move to censor, de-platform and otherwise gag conservative voices, and would certainly have no problem destroying documents that conflict with their preferred narrative. The inconvenient truths preserved in the documentary record would simply be put down the Orwellian memory hole, shredded in the basement on January 21.

Nope, Anyone paying attention knew that that was why Trump was elected in the first place.

The more they do to him, the more his anti-hero legend will grow. When you're old and sitting around with your grandchildren , do you think they will want to hear stories about Joe Biden? They'll say...Grandpa LG, tell us about when President Trump did this or did that. Golly, those were the days.

If Trump was aware of damaging documents against Biden he would have declassified them before the election. Give me a break.

Just creates more division. The Dims want to unite, but this isn’t a good idea.

You should be more worried about your Twitter stock, it’s down and still going.

Funny how you forget to mention that Jackson’s impetus for the native Americans was their insurrection and taking up arms against the US government in the war of 1812

That doesn't excuse the Trail of Tears man, come on.

Not to mention, we had been "cleansing" the US territories of Natives and stealing their lands since we first arrived.
