I really do think he is back... at least that’s what I’m reserved to. The whole hire with pruitts blessing with full expectation of another HC coming in is like nothing I’ve ever heard...makes zero sense.

Smith has to go number 3 right? The guy is unreal and will instantly tear up NFL even more than Jefferson did. If I were Jets I would even consider him if you were to keep Darnold. I don’t think Darnold was the issue there similar to Tannehill under Gase.

I wouldn’t say he “won” at ole miss. He had one great year which was followed up by a dud and then fired for cheating. i think he did a good job but some people are acting like he won 2 titles. In the same season after they beat bama they got beat 30-0 to Arkansas and then 42-3 to TCU.

I’m not saying that he is Urban Meyer. I look at Freeze at Ole Miss similar to Mullen. I’m confident that Freeze can compete with Mullen, Smart, and Saban with UTs resources. What more can you expect out of a coaching hire at UT? High floor/high Ceiling.

Steele could coach any position on the defensive side of the ball and obviously can run an enitre defense as a coordinator. He's long been an effective recruiter. Not flashy, just a grinder on the road. Don't know what region he would have if the deal gets done and it's not done yet.
