Marrone-been there, done that, plenty of experience at all levels with good success. Only negative is some fans won’t approve

chadwell: hometown “vol”, plenty of success as head coach, has zero Experience in big boy football as player, assistant coach or head coach

Kiffin: can’t cross the bridge he burned a decade ago:

feeeze: by far the best coach we could hire IF he could win at this level with the ncaa eyes staring squarely on him.

Pruitt: is 2020 his EDo Ole miss, if not he can’t keep his uneducated redneck hands off the coordinators playbook
Not sure where that good success occurred. He had one pretty good year with Jax but overall he's had 4 winning seasons out of 10 as a head coach, and none of them were anything spectacular.

Even the year he went to the AFC CG, the overall season wasn't as great as you'd think when you look at it. They went 10-6 in the regular season but the Steelers were the only actual good team they beat. Besides Pittsburgh, they only beat 3 other teams with winning records (all 9-7), or 4 if you count the wild card game against Buffalo (also 9-7). So it's not like they sucked but it wasn't awe-inspiring either. And that was his one good year.

So besides that one season at Jax, he had one 9-7 season at Buffalo and two 8-5 seasons at Syracuse. The rest were all losing seasons, the best of which was a 5-12 season at Syracuse. He's got a .430 winning percentage as HC overall.

Just can't see that as good success.

None of you turd nuggets have to like the hire. The leadership in place will do what they feel is best. Have a little confidence. Let’s ride.
Stepping in here - dude - yes, they do have to like the hire. Or at least be on board with it. Truth - a lot of these posters use their hard-earned cash to buy an overpriced football ticket and overpriced hot dog or Petros. They may be able to only afford to see one game a year but make it an event when they do. This team/franchise depends on their/our support. If it doesn’t care, why should they? Bury it and become a basketball school. You sound like a snob and you don’t want to be sitting in an empty stadium listening to fake crowd noise do you?

But is HE doing the hiring?
the way it's portrayed, he's at least involved....even if not the absolute decision maker.

still doesn't explain why he can't/hasn't hired an OL coach or DL coach etc....if he's got some guys interested.

i think it's gonna be a tough sell on pruitt still being the coach.

none of this is making any sense at this point....but the reality is we still don't have a ton to go on except some speculation and conjecture.....

i've flip flopped a couple of times on this. so honestly, i can't say i'll be surprised either way. as of right now, i lean toward him getting axed. will prolly change tomorrow.

Napier, Chadwell, and Herman are "I had a hunch" coaches, too. Marrone has proven more than them. I guess if you want Gus Malzahn, who has been mediocre the last 7 years.
All those guys have had much better seasons and careers than Marrone...even Mehlzahn has done more than him.

Thanks for sharing but LWS is full of it. There’s 0% chance IMO he is coming back. I don’t care if they hire Steele, Pruitt isn’t coaching another down at Tennessee.
I hope not but we have to think what is the most Tennessee/ Fulmer thing to do? Square peg in a round hole, right? Want them to listen then let Neyland rot

I say taking a team to the AFC championship is good success but I wasn’t just talking about the NfL. Winning a conference title at Syracuse which was a gosh awful program before he got there is very much having “good success”.
