My point is we know what Gus is and has been getting worse, which is why he was fired. I would rather go with a sitting head coach who has shown they can win. I don’t care if it’s Conference USA or sunbelt. A proven winner who would be hungry to prove their worth. We can give them everything they need to win, we need someone hungry and a winner. I would rather go for Leipold, Napier, or Chadwell than Gus. If they are even half way decent head coaches, they will win eight games a year here . But they could also be rockstars and bring us a championship. It’s worth the risk to me.
Its a risk for sure

I thought Tannehill made a few bad decisions in the second half. Arthur called a good game for the part of the first half that I saw.
~ 100 yards offense after the 1Q does not equal a well called game. Didn’t see it as I am not an oiler fan, just going by their radio commentators.

Any Titan fan stepping back for an unbiased perspective saw that L coming today. I didn’t expect them to lose THAT way though. The 2020 Titans haven’t been “primetime” all year.

I thought Titans could win but knew a SB was out of the question. Defense just isn't there. Happy with the team and the season, though. Most wins/first division title since 2008 and a 2K rusher. Henry has established himself as a superstar in the NFL and A.J. Brown may be there soon enough. Still really like Vrabel, his calls are solid for the most part, but not going for it today late was a killer. Hope J Rob sticks around for a while as well. He hits far more than he misses.

It's been more than 12 years since I made this video when that Hitler meme from "Downfall" was in full swing:

It was funny at the time. I didn't think we could sink any lower than losing to a Rick Neuheisel-coached UCLA team with a JUCO quarterback. But we just sank lower, and lower, and lower. And now here we are, and I still don't think we've reached rock bottom. I think we're still waiting for rock bottom.

We talk about how everything turned south after halftime of the Georgia game. But honestly, since the end of the 2016 Georgia game, it's been a really incredible run straight off the cliff. I don't understand how a program with these types of resources and this loyal a fanbase can be so utterly hopeless. But there it is. It's exhausting to be a fan of Tennessee.

Unpopular opinion but I would’ve made Tee the HBC last search and would definitely do it this time around. He has passion for the T and I believe he would put together a great staff. I know he gets a lot of hate on this board but that’s my 2 cents. Back to lurking 👀

I don’t hate him. Just don’t believe “passion for the T” qualifies you for the job...otherwise I’d be applying and setting the wrong kind of records.

Eh, I’ll wait and see how they fare the rest of the year.
You know that feeling you had when down deep you know it's more of the same? You know in all likelihood it isn't going to work out? The feeling you push down and ignore? Sort of like last year after the first game and then the second game for the football Vols? I refuse to ignore those feelings any longer. I see no appreciable difference in Holly's teams and this team. Can she turn it around? I wouldn't bet on it. Just as with the football team, we are a grand canyon from where the top teams are. The gap isn't closing. All JMO. Maybe your optimism is warranted. My hope is you are right and I'm dead wrong.

Should have hire Kara Lawson. I believe we missed the boat on her.
We as in football don't hire big. Look at what we pay. They're doing the same thing they've done with football with the Lady Vols. As with the football program, the further we get from relevance, the harder it will be to get back. As with football, I doubt we are it for a long, long time.

Definitely Unpopular opinion.

Bad opinion even.

I’ll be eager to hear from Low and Price on The Nation tonight.

Low is tiring to me. Acts like he is best friends with every guest and says a lot of words but little substance. He’s trying to “cover” a lot of teams so he seems not to be really close to TN stuff now.

This leads me to a question. Why did Pruitt stick with Guarantano when it was clear he would never get it done? Is he that blind, or was it just a big middle finger to everybody?

Blind/stubborn. It’s not even so much the fact that they stuck with him.... but they continually asked him to do things he’s not capable of.

I think Fulmer still has enough supporters where they can’t just run over his objections roughshod.

I’m convinced that it’s just like LA Vol said, if there had been a consensus on which way to, he would have been fired. I think this whole thing has resulted from someone trying to force that consensus, for better or worse.
Correct.
If Fulmer was the only person wanting to keep him hes probably already gone. Fulmer has had enough support to this point to keep that from already happening. The results of the investigation may change that.
