Probably implied in your response but once this whole mess became more and more public, the chances of anything being done cleanly went out the window.Yep, it's stop the bleeding time. If the decision had been reached to fire him, the solution would have been to fire him cleanly, pay the buyout and get a prime position in the coaching sweepstakes. Then handle the investigation separately and swiftly.
Outside counsel will make a recommendation based on final findings and probable outcomes. Pruitt's response and how far down the list they'll have to go will be factors. The only sure thing is UT has whacked a hornet's nest and now has to deal with the swarm.
As did our chances of a competent contingency plan for replacing Pruitt with anything resembling a quality replacement.
