Nope. I think theres 0 chance we hire Freeze or Kiffin.

I dont want to take a chance on another up and comer, personally. That's why I'd take Gus over Napier. Gus could at least get us to 8-4. Napier may come in and do great....but he may not. Rather not take the chance. ....again though as I keep saying...I'm totally ready for an underwhelming hire either way...that's if we fire him.

To me, the risk is that Gus likely plateaus short of where we all want and we get stuck like Auburn. That's another quandary and huge buyout.
I think Napier is the least risky of the young guns and would come for 2.5-3M and reasonable control which any coach worth the job should get. Believe he would assemble a good staff at reasonable price. Even if he underwhelmed, and I don't think he would, he would be a 4-8M buyout, rather than 12-15M.

It really did..they hired a immature flake when they could have gotten a great established coach...and that is what caused this whole mess.
They could have survived missing on Kiffin after a year. The failure was the panic that led to being stuck with Dooley for 3 years only to be in worse shape after it was over.

To everyone crying foul at the notion of Gus because he's "too average": when in the last fifteen years have we looked even average or above??? When have we had anything remotely resembling and average program or coach???

It’s going to be Phillip’s call what we do going forward. If major violations are found that are directly tied to Pruitt, he’ll be let go. If not, he’ll be back next season, as he should be.

Can’t argue against this. I’m excited for year 4 of stale cornbread.

I think people need to start coming around to the fact that Pruitt will be the coach for 2021. It’s Jan. 10th and there’s no end in sight to this. What are tgey going to do, fire him the day before Spring Practice?

He will be the face of the decision, but to pretend he is making this decision in a vacuum is wrong. Based on some of the rumors there may not be violations that hurt the program but reflect poorly on Pruitt. The decision is likely it of Fulmers hands here.

Are they going to let him hire coaches before spring practice then?
