Malzhan would do fine here. He’d be pissed off for greatness and would bring a strong staff. Tennessee is a better job than Auburn, and being in the East would make it easier. He’d have us winning 8-10 ball games a year. All you can ask for.
1-5 vs Smart...with Auburn talent and being held up by Steele. Where is that going to get us?

I'll go with Freeze that has a winning record against him. And Mullen. 2-3 vs Saban. Jmo

Hiring Gus would be lazy and akin to not even trying. His most recent history indicates he can’t be elite in this league. Might as well keep Pruitt and pray for a miracle.

Caveat: the only way Gus is reasonable is if being fired has truly caused him to reevaluate his approach and he has a chip on his shoulder to prove himself. Doesn’t really strike me at that kind of guy and how is that even possible in 1 month?

Agree. Bridge to nowhere.

Bridge to heck of a lot better than now! It’s time to get someone proven! They need to have head coach experience and a chip on their shoulder to beat everyone else. I’m tired of being the laughing stock of the SEC. I use to use the mantra that every program has its ups and downs but we have more downs!!!

That Auburn team his 1st season was one of the luckiest in college football history to get to 12-2. They beat Washington St by 7. Beat Miss St with a last minute td, came back from a big deficit to beat A&M in the 4th qtr, had the hail Mary vs UGA, and the kick six vs Bama. They had everything go right for them that year.

Bowl games are not a goal at Tennessee. Any limp dick program can make a bowl. This is Tennessee. Folks need to start acting like it.
Ergo we are going after Auburn's leftovers? 😭

If we had the swag of top programs we'd go drop a big boy offer on top coaches. Campbell, Fickell, Freeze, etc. Instead we're talking about a host of recently fired guys...that's the definition of "limp dick".

Making big offers to big coaches is what we're asking for. YOU are the one talking about keeping a losing HC Pruitt..
