All the things you say he lacks is because of the talent he currently has. SEC defense today aren’t exactly what they were even 5 years ago. We’re recruiting 205lb hybrid LBs that can cover now. That was unheard of then. A perfect example is our LB...... Those dudes can stop a run decent enough but get ate up in coverage. The spread/RPO part of the game has made SEC coach’s recruit smaller, faster guys that can cover.

Yes, that's why I think it works where he is and won't work here. His offense works because of the lack of size and speed where he is. When all things are equal it won't work.

Speed, Fast, Air Raid, Explosive passing game.... I know these guys are out of our budget, but Freeze, Herman Kiffin are what we need to be looking for. Like I said earlier, Butch 15-16 scheme is where we need to go. That team looked similar to Ohio St, Chadwell looks like what just got fired at UK.

Of the realistic candidates, I like Napier

@InVOLuntary Finally found a BCG. after reading a few threads on one of the well known AR sites. They recommended running a LMT BCG but they don’t make the 7.62 anymore. So the next one after that was from a company called Black rifle arms. They said it comes with correct bolt face measurements to run 7.62, upgraded extractor and enhanced firing pin. Went on the back order email list, just got the back in stock notification. Boom, done but pricey.

Ok, I’m on the Chadwell train because that’s the waters we’re going to be fishing in. IF we’re fishing in deeper water then I’m all Fickell, Campbell, Freeze.

It has nothing to do with what VN wants. It is the absolute fact that every minute that goes by is a step closer to oblivion.

yea the biggest thing for me with Jeff Fisher or Doug Marrone is we would have a grown up running the show and you would never have to question effort again out of our team. They are both leaders and can literally lay out the blue print for players that want to get to the next level and last at the next level. I also know how many talented coaches these guys have coached with and against... so i think their staffs would be made up of coach first, recruit second guys which is what we desperately need.

I'm calling those 3 first (and Kiffin). Then moving to Napier, then Chadwell.

It should never get past Freeze.

Option football is not outdated. RPO's were an expansion of the option concepts and have changed college football. Announcers calling Coastal games thought some of their most interesting designs were busted plays. They weren't.

Football is cyclical. You don't want to be years behind. You want to be ahead.

I don't know if Chadwell would be successful. But I would love to have a play caller that keeps evolving and pulling from the past and creating something new like that. Very cool. Kept defenses on their toes all year. We haven't had a coach that did that since Kiffin or Cutcliffe was here.
