I mean I hear you on some of this but it's not like he's gonna have to run it with Coastal level players.

The fact that you wouldn't want to use your QB to run the ball in this day and age blows my mind though. Makes things so much harder on defenses. They can get injured sitting in the pocket too.

Theres a difference between using your QB to run the ball and predicating your whole offense on the threat. It should be something pulled out and used, but not what the O is based around.

Prayers for you and your family, I’ve been there. Grandparents are the best and they know you love them and you know she loved you. I’m sure she’s good and she’d tell you to be ok too.

You do realize that if he ends up in the SEC that he’ll also have SEC players? You do also understand that he’ll play to the strength of what his team has at the time? He ran triple option less than 25% against Liberty in the Cure bowl and has a 2* QB and a 5’8” center because that’s what he has.. Lost on a missed FG in OT. The guy does the best he can with what he has. You don’t just win multiple coach of the year awards and be Mickey Mouse at the same time.

All the things you say he lacks is because of the talent he currently has. SEC defense today aren’t exactly what they were even 5 years ago. We’re recruiting 205lb hybrid LBs that can cover now. That was unheard of then. A perfect example is our LB...... Those dudes can stop a run decent enough but get ate up in coverage. The spread/RPO part of the game has made SEC coach’s recruit smaller, faster guys that can cover.

I hear you man. I don't think there's that much of a difference. Just depends on how good of a decision maker you have at QB. If you have Mauer out there trying to run folks over it's probably not gonna work.

I feel like there was an interview where he said he tailors his offense to his players’ strengths. What he did at Coastal was what his guys did well, not necessarily what his offense will always be.
