Trump Supporters Gathering in D.C. - Mayor Readies for Those ‘Seeking Confrontation’

I disagree. They have every right to want to support Trump and to protest the election result and any complaints about how it was conducted.

But their grievances are not lasting and of the sort of long term, entrenched abuse of the citizenry that justifies overthrow of the government. And in the end, thats not even what the rioters sought- they sought to intimidate and antagonize, not reform.

Look at the video. Half of the were making youtube videos or face time broadcasting. That was not sincere rebellion. That was a party and an effort to scare people along the way.
So, you admit it wasn't a coup or insurrection

Literally every politician does this. I didn’t agree (though a lot of people did) with objecting to the results, but come on.
Had he backed off last night, all would have been forgiven. He wasn't wise enough to read the situation. Who wants a book written by someone that clueless?

I don’t know why anyone would read a book by an active politician anyways.

Ah, good question. But not in context.

I think there are SOME who romanticized that result. Anyone who brought pipe bombs or the like you have to wonder about.

The others, more of a mob mentality.

I dont, for example, think that BLM rioters who throw bricks at a county commission building really expect to alter their form of government.

It was honestly a yes or no question

Sorry.

I'm saying it depends on who we are talking about. For some of the extremes, yes, it rises to that level. For the substantial majority of them, no.

Trump, I'm on the fence about at the moment. I'd like to know more about what he was saying or doing at the time. The reports of his reaction are not favorable to him. But I'd like to know more.

Like I said, they had misguided motivation. Trump and what he stands for sure aren't worth going to prison or dying for. But rebellion is part of American DNA and I respect that.

Let me make this simple.

No, it was idiots being idiots.

You’re kidding right? Talk about disingenuous. The ONLY reason he put that out is that his staff is in full blown rebellion and I’m sure has threatened to bail if he didn’t say something. He is also under attack with Congress (including Republicans) threatening to remove him now. It won’t happen of course because of timing but they could embarrass him some more. That would be fun to watch for the next two weeks.
So basically he can do nothing right in the eyes of some.
