Trump Supporters Gathering in D.C. - Mayor Readies for Those ‘Seeking Confrontation’

Ok this video makes absolutely no sense.

Why would the police do that?

This makes it look like a set up.
Yes, the police just let them in. I don't think that would have happened in a BLM or similar protest. Somehow it's ok and non-threatening if it's white people carrying guns.

If, as police, you're going to be heavy-duty law-and-order, you should be doing it equally for all people that you view as threats.

Not sure if this is what happened.

What are you thinking?

I don't think one way or the other yet....

But what if this was a set up to make the republicans look as bad as possible? Let enough through that think they are going in allowed and then stop them..you would only need a few bad apples who may even be not republicans in the group to then break down a locked door. At that point mob mentality kicks in.

I am not saying this is what happened but when I saw the video I immediately saw multiple very plausible scenarios.

Scenario A the cops let them in and waived through to locked doors. Why?

Scenario B the cops let them in and the doors weren't locked and once in they just started walking around. If so, when were doors locked? Mid riot?

Scenario C is my crazy theory I mentioned above.

It does appear though that the group that was let through the barriers may be the same group you see first walk in which means they were allowed inside. At what point then were they stopped and did it turn?

Lastly why was one guard covering a back stairway by himself and why was there a nightstick on the ground 15 feet behind him ready to be picked up and waived as he retreated? That looked staged.

Oh, for God's sake. Trump has been encouraging his cultish followers to do all this. He tweeted his approval at today's actions. These weren't fakers. These were his faithful followers, doing exactly what he encouraged them to do,

You missed alot of what I posted.

Let's agree cops waived them in. Then waived them inside. When did it go south? It looks to go south the second they walk through the door yet they were just waived in.

Well, there is a reasonable argument that cops, as a general group, do not regard white, right-wing, flag-wavers as threats. I think that if you Refaced all the folks charging the Capitol and replaced them with black and brown faces, there would have be a very different reaction.

And sure, things "went south" as soon as they were waved inside, because they were now inside. It's not like they came in to view the paintings and White House silver and suddenly decided to go nuts. They had a plan, they calmly walked inside, and they executed their plan.

How would you have done it if you were in their shoes?

I read this about an hour or so ago and I've been thinking about it for awhile. I have no problem going down the rabbit hole, but at this point, I can't dismiss any of the 3 options you offered.

But I did think of this. What if this was a trap? What if the police were letting these protesters in a particular gate or location and luring them to a place where they could be ambushed? Obviously it didn't happen today, but I'm saying that could have been in play also... or maybe the next time they come to DC.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. "

Chickens coming home to roost..

The Capitol Hill Police has 2,200 officers. That's more than the City of Atlanta Police Department has.

There is a bafflingly small show of force in this clip.
