Maybe it’s a dumb question but why aren’t coaches fired for underperforming? It’s ridiculous to know 3-7 isn’t enough to keep the money and give him his papers.

A school can fire a coach for underperforming, but they'll pay the buyout-- with no mitigation in Pruitt's case. Terms are negotiated upfront and are in the contract.

Some dude on Basilio giving great breakdowns on the coaching candidates being tossed around.
Herman- not a good talent developer and pissed off the boosters
Marrone- Not a good fit in the south. No recruiting ties. Hard nose coach. Good technician.
Malzahn- Offense is stale, doesn't use rb's very well, carried by Steele, good recruiter
Fickell- Knows the area, surrounds himself with good staff, offense is innovative

all paraphrased

I listened too. He also said Kiffin is up to the same old mess in Oxford. Whatever that means.

But why is it even in the negotiated to begin with? It should be common knowledge that if your terrible you’ll be fired.

Saw where the Texans may interview Jerod Mayo.

Dude is a rising star. I just hope he goes somewhere that's a good situation for him. Too many Pats assistants get bad situations and people think they're bad coaches (McDaniels, Flores, and Patricia all come to mind)

Is today the day? Or what that yesterday? Tomorrow?

The forum really feels like Groundhog Day sometimes. Same things over and over.
