Welp...your guys are boring and will be run out of town in three to four years by a screaming mob toting torches and pitchforks..

May be boring, but they have won before and won as HC’s at multiple levels. Stoops and Campbell can afford to be choosey and they aren’t coming into this mess for any amount of money. Last time we hired a coach, the finalists were Tucker, Steele, and Pruitt. None of which should have even been on the shortlist, but those were the choices because the program was in shambles. It is not much better off now. If we can land O’Brien or Marrone, anyone with any sense should consider it a homerun.

Then I guess I have no sense since they both make me cringe.

Would no spring, summer, or fall practice hinder development of a primarily young football team? Yes or no.
Yes, but veterans were also affected, they regressed by and large. Any way you attempt to mix the ingredients the result is the same. There was a serious disconnect in this staff, offensive line actually got worse with better players.

Players love Pruitt for sure, coaches don't seem to though. He's burned a lot of bridges with boosters and staff. You can get away with that if you're winning, but he's failing miserably. He failed his players last year, he failed them this year. Do we really need more body of work to see where this goes?

The only? How about having no f’ing clue how to manage a roster?

He was a terrible GM but good coach. He would succeed in college game. Managing roster as a GM where trades, salary cap and rich man egos are involved is a lot different than picking whoever you want and developing them into football players

Good lord. How may players do they have left? It seems like every player on their roster has declared for the draft or entered the portal. They have to 100th ranked recruiting class too.
But they love playing for Pruitt, so I have heard. With all that is leaving tells a different story.

O'Brien is much the better of the two. I will say I may have been wrong, I actually thought some more about it, and considering the job he had to do at PSU he might could work out here.

Still totally and emphatically out on Marrone.

Why out on Marrone? He actually took a team that was worst in its conference for 5+ years and won a conference championship with them in year 4. It was considered so impressive that it warranted an NFL hire. He also has more more of an excuse than O’Brien for struggling his last few years in the NFL. When comparing their resumes, Marrone might actually have the slight edge.

O’Brien or Marrone aren’t necessarily at the top of my wish list, but both fit the bill of what this program just might need most right now. I would be pleased with either of them.

If you remove Turners time with Bengals where it’s been no OL talent to work with he actually has a really nice college coaching resume from his stints with AM. When he was OL for Sherman, he had 3 first rd picks in Joekcel, Matthews and some other guy. Then he was sumlins OL coach
Get out of here. That doesn't fit the narrative we are trying to construct in here.

my only thing with O’Brien is the players in Houston hated that man... that’s my only red flag

I wonder how the Dolphins felt about Saban? An authoritarian style works much better in college than pros. I knew the Tampa Bay players hated Schiano, but I was all for him until I heard about the Penn St. stuff.

SMH..so only losses count, the wins don't matter...gotcha..

Plus you left out the part where he was rebuilding the worst team in Tennessee history...but that doesn't matter either..
A win is a win, for sure. And maybe I’m just looking at things through the awfulness that was this season. But we shouldn’t celebrate wins vs teams that we should beat.

USCe, Vandy and Kentucky should be wins every year. Missouri could be a toss up, along with our cross division games. Florida and Georgia and Bama should be the only games that aren’t really competitive, at least for now anyways. Those are my ideal expectations.

We have never offered anybody the kind of money that A&M gave Jimbo. We don't know what would happen if we offered that to Stoops. I don't think you can offer that kind of money to Campbell even though he has been my #1 since last go round.

Ehh, I can see where the message is on the right path, but him basically saying unless you have some sort of status, your opinion doesn’t matter is not.
He didn't say status. He said "skin in the game and skins on the wall" essentially. He is 100% on point.
